No emcee before or after Canibus has created insane hype simply based off freestyles or guest appearance verses. This guy had the industry especially the East Coast shook without without even releasing a single. Just look at how many East Coast emcees were dropping material between 97-99 and look at how many hollered at Canibus. This guy was the illest in the game but getting canibus on your track meant being people would be taking about Canibus instead of you. Look at the year 1997 and Canibus had like 4 guest verses which could all be describes as verse of the year as well as insane freestyles which nobody else was matching. No rapper straight out of the gate has dropped such an insane quality of verses. You had to rewind the tape whenever you heard canibus as after every line you were just like "what the fuck did this dude just say". It was crazy as there just wasn't anyone else at the time spitting like that. These freestyles pass the test of time. It's 20 years later and you will be hard pressed to find a better freestyle.
