What's sad is that it starts for many of us before we are even born. Lack of proper treatment of black mothers carrying black babies who experience this treatment before they take their first breath. It often continues once school starts when misbehaving black boys are disciplined much differently than anyone else. The pattern goes on and on and as long as people are not called out, it will continue. Unfortunately, these patterns are not just patterns, they reveal the true heart of people who don't recognize or care to recognize and acknowledge their bias and discrimination.

Clearly a fictional tale. If "Sarah Collins" arrived at 9:10 and was immediately summoned to the bench, she would have no way to have documented 7 others who arrived after 9:00 am with white ones not being reprimanded, Asians receiving verbally warnings, and black ones receiving harsh treatment. There is no record online of any black federal prosecutor black Sara(h) Collins in Atlanta, GA. The only hits are 2 or 3 youtube videos with AI narration like this one.

I learned at the tender age of 19 when I came to DC from Indiana to work for the FBI that if you don't stand up for your rights...then who will. It started with the first check I earned as a Finger Print Correspondent; I was looking forward to spending it on things I wanted and needed. To my surprise, the mostly black staff on our floor basically told me that black folks didn't get their checks when the white employees did we got ours a week later. I couldn't accept that and was told not to cause trouble which spissed me off even more. I marched to the office to get my check and upon entering the front office received racist looks from the secretaries who were themselves rushing out to spend their checks. I demanded to speak to the woman so many black female employees feared. I entered her office in a very nasty voice she asked me what my badge number was which I promptly covered with my hand and told her my name instead and demanded to get my check. This woman had a reputation for being a tyrant who actually had the legs of the chair you sit down in filed down so that when you sit down you were beneath her sitting position...I declined her offer and told her a little fib that I had a brother who was a labor attorney and if I didn't get my check today...he would sue the FBI. Just as I expected she opened the cabinet with a silver locked box like in the movies and literally all the black employees checks that popped out of it like a jack-in-the-box in her face. I grabbed my check and started running to the elevator to get to the bank in time but decided to run to the end of the hall to tell all my shackled sisters that I got my check and they realized that I wasn't there to cause problems but to get justice for my hard work and respect for me as an employee and human being. I found out a couple of weeks later that she had them do another background check on me to find something to fire me with. My maiden name back then was Davis as in Angel Davis of the Black Panthers. Of course, they were as disappointed as I was because I would have been more than proud to have been related to such a powerful black woman who fought for our rights as black people. When I got home that evening I called my aunt who had raised me and told her. I cried because I was more disappointed in the slave attitudes of those black women whose lack of courage kept them locked into a state of slavery. My aunt told me to try and understand them and see the bigger picture that God had a plan for me to be there and set things right.

And....Justice was served on a racist judge who didn't serve due justice but racist prejudice. Every dog will have its day in court. Justice served!
