Manor lords mercenary captain final fight cheese/exploit
This video is for people who are having a hard time on the final fight for the keeping the peace scenario in manor lords, especially those trying to complete the mercenary captain achievement and do not have enough mercenaries to complete the final fight.
I loaded a save on my mercenary/ challenge mode run guide and tested out a bug, which will save many campaigns I hope.

Done on the normal difficulty, easiest way to do it yourself is to use your first batch of spearmen and attack the first bandit camp that spawns, keeping the money for yourself, and using the loot to fund mercenaries to kill more camps. killing bandits gives you influence, and is they only reliable way to earn it without spending 8 hours for the church to eat 8000 loafs of bread. Really enjoyed...

From my fist only very hard starfield playthrough Unarmed is absolutely silly how it is both strong and pathetic at the same time, any 1v1 you are guaranteed to win because how much you can stun the enemy, while any larger numbers and you have to resort to shenanigans

very scary place. frightened my bejeebers right out. 7/10 needs more deathclaws. all jokes aside all the weapons used were farmed with no console commands or mods. i lucked out and got a legendary combat shotgun which shreds through everything, now my only problem is finding shotgun shells

soo as some merc units are absolute garbage and some are good. I'm trying to figure out how to keep them into the merc pool. So the first year or 2 you'r building up wealth and with some luck you can get in some treasury to hire mercs and get bandit camps. in order for a good merc unit NOT to leave the pool, i have to HIRE them after the bandit camp, as the baron hired units, and me hired units and the units that didn't get hired will be removed from the pool? i can't get a definition of this i'm afraid. could you explain in detail?
Think you could give any tips on how to get better?
@@Aidan-fv4bb i have another video with a build order for a strong start, but some of the info is outdated due to an update. For the most part, winning in this game is maintaining a large enough population to have enough troops to outnumber the enemies. To have a large population, you need alot of people on food.
after full restarting 3 times trying to get all the mercenaries before the baron I had to use the save stun glitch. I really really tried to fight the baron the honorable way but best I got was 4 squads of mercenaries and not the best ones. This was one hell of an achievment. But I have it now. Now I can relax and play the game just for fun lol
Why after 3 years (in game) i can buy only one mercernery army and its shit coz its only archers, month after month its telling me "there is no mercenery to buy"... :( im stuck
Over time mercenaries will leave you pool of potential hires, typically leaving the 2 archer company. In order to avoid this you need to keep them hired for as long as possible.
@@plooperss4947 yes but in order to refill troops in mercenery army i have to disband them and hire them again. After i disband them, they never shows up again...
@@Beh0m0th I havent run into this issue myself, but I have another video up on how to cheese the final fight (and all other fights) if you dont have enough troops to win the battle normally
@@plooperss4947 got it ;) my mistake was not using them to fight the bandit camps. Last battle was hard but i use the trick with river ;) thanks Bro

I tried so hard to get these two achievments but always had bad luck with the randomness of the mercinaries. I always get 1x brigant , double bowmen squad and squad with only 1x swordsmen and light bowmen... its impossible too get these achievments with that. Is there a way to get squads like yours for example the 3 swordsmen squad?
As time goes on in a run the mercenary pool will lose mercenaries, and the only way to get different ones is to restart. If you dont want to lose the run i have another video on how to cheese the fights
how do you have so many mercenary, I have a limit of 3 only...
Thanks for adding the order. Unfortunately my game I can't get anymore mercenaries. Seems to be a bug. I get the alert there a new mercenary for hire but the selection is blank. Occurred before the AI claimed the last territory so I had no way to fight. Either I will need the cheese method or a new save me thinks... unless I could focus on retinue. Anyone know if that would forfeit the trophy?
same i had only 2 i think the ai take them late in the game anyway i mange to win by letting the ai run after me around the map and i send 1 unit to win point and win without fight You can do this as long as he does not enter the circle to start the battle,

Personally i just want the mercinary ach out of the way. So... totally good with stun save method. Will consider that strongly. Would also be open to general combat tips. My milita seem ok but mercenaries seem to reall suck when i use them. Some break instantly.... irritating
Strat gaming has probably some of the best combat information, but the main thing to ensure that your troops dont retreat is to make sure they fight when they have an advantage, like fighting 1 enemy with 2 allies, and keeping them out of the woods.
Thanks. I'll look into that - they've broken even with an advantage and 2v1 units in their favour though... mercenary subjectively seem less motivated to fight. Might see if a variation of this works for pressing my own claim. All I have is 1 crappy mercenary unit to hire. None of the others are available... after that new game I guess
@@Obsidianoak It should work, just make sure you are ready to stun again at the 60 day mark when the units refresh
Achievements are not working on the beta branch. But you can switch back to the normal version for the last battle. Than you get it.
Big changes on trade with the new patch make this trophy way harder
How do you get mercenaries that died to replenish their numbers? I’m not talking about completely wiped but rather having lets say 25/36, how do you get them back to full strenght? Disband and rehire? Also did you settle any of the other regions or you just did this with 1 settlement? Thanks man great video, made it look really easy, also thanks for the good simple battlefield strategies that will help me a lot.
For the mercenaries that died I disbanded them and rehired them the next month, and I did it with the one region as the mercenaries will only cost a set amount and once I achieve that in monthly income there is no reason to expand. Thanks for watching!
How can you have all three mercenary companies late game? I can never get more than two companies after the first year of the game.
I believe that mercenaries leave your pool whenever the AI hires them to clear bandit camps, but that is just a theory. What I did was I made sure to hire as many as I could in the early game, and once all regions were conquered he wouldn't hire any more mercenaries.
I wish the game didnt always bug out and make you unable to have more than 2 companies.
It's an issue of the shared merc pool, not exactly a bug.
How to get more mercenaries group, my game play is currently at mid- late game. But there just only 1 availble group
Once the mercenaries leave your pool, you cannot hare them for the rest of the playthrough. Are you trying to get the mercenary captain achievement?

can I use my retinue and still get mercenary captain achievement? also, at what point can i no longer hire mercenaries? because in regular play i know they are just no longer available...
To be honest I do not know if you can use retinue, as I forgot to test it when I got the achievement. Also I believe that once you hire a mercenary once they no longer leave your pool.
@@plooperss4947 they do leave...I played regular game and I was hiring mercenaries as well...but at one point mercenaries were no longer available...none of them...

Thank you, very helpful. I had to do the save cheese as with only 2 merc companies (3 infatry 2 bow) the battle was pretty much impossible.

I’m at the final battle it’s so hard i just keep getting wrecked and the one time i killed them reinforcements arrived ☠️
How many mercenaries do you have? and typically reinforcements come after 60 days, so it may be a good idea to focus on speed. also if the game does not say "battle started", once you kill all the AI units the ai will wait 60 days and send another stack, as the victory condition for the region is the 90 day claim timer instead of just winning the battle.

i can never get more then 7 mercs to show up in the pool and its always the same three groups, am i doing something wrong?
You may need to restart the run, because from my understanding as time goes on mercenaries will leave your recruitment pool if you don't hire them atleast once. I am going to look into an exploit to make the final battle easier, ill respond again if it works or not.

From my experience yes, once you hire them the first time they remain in your pool.

Hire them quickly, once you hire them once they dont leave your pool.
@@plooperss4947 So do I understand correctly that if I hire them as quickly as possible and then fire them, I won't lose them even if they all die ? I find it really really hard to do these two achievements together... I'm almost wondering if that's even possible 😀It's still much easier to make a mercenary captain on the easiest difficulty
@@DurhilCZ mercenary captain is 100 percent easier on the easiest difficulty, I just did it on the hardest one out of spite. If all the units in a mercenary company die they will no longer be able to be hired from my understanding, but if they retreat they may be able to (hasnt happened to me yet). The biggest challenge of doing both at the same time is getting enough money early enough to grab bandit camps before the AI takes the whole map. once you get bandit camps, it is usually enough money to get the ball rolling on contesting and taking land.

This cant be done right? how did u get access to more then 4 troop packs? (without retinue)
The limit for militia is 6 unit cards, and from then on you cant recruit anymore. You can get more retinue, and hire mercenaries however. If max out the militia slots before you build any manors you can have all 6 militia, then the retinue, and then mercenaries.
I wish river crossing effects/debuff were stronger

There is no 'creative mode.' There are settings where you won't have to fight anything, but you still have to keep people happy. Food/fuel etc. That is a good way to learn how to take care of that part, before moving up to fighting bandits, and then fighting the AI Baron. Edit: If you meant the 'Continue in Sandbox Mode' that is an option that pops up when you complete the victory condition you picked at the start.
