Mysterious loud noise at 4:30AM over Casco Bay
มุมมอง 2857 ปีที่แล้ว
Strange, incredibly loud, buzz-sawing noise lasted for about 30 minutes starting at 4:30AM over Casco Bay between Freeport and Brunswick. No moving boats, helicopters or planes visible anywhere - but it was way louder than any vehicle I've ever heard! Never heard anything like it in nearly five years living here. Woke many people up.
-4° Arctic Sea Smoke in Maine
มุมมอง 2667 ปีที่แล้ว
Dramatic wintry morning here in Freeport, Maine near the LL Bean paddling center. Local weather report said the water temperature was in the high 40s and air temp below zero, and this creates "instant clouds" known as Arctic Sea Smoke. Very cool.

For the full Maine adventure make sure you live in interior Maine on an unpaved private road that the town doesn't maintain. Your winter time experience will completely different than what a person on a public road has to deal with. Cost of living increases exponentially as well maintaining a gravel road, plowing etc... Oh yeah and then there is mud season! We're only 30 minutes from the ocean but it may as well be 100 miles away when winter comes. We have two seasons. Winter season and preparing for winter season!
THX a WINTER needed!
Wonderful video, interesting to see those big rocks break through the ice with the coming and going of the tide, perfect still shots too, very nice thank you for sharing!

Be Cool to have a thermometer off to the side of camera showing the mercury rising and falling with the time laps too. Nicely done. Liked seeing the visits from wild (and domestic) life.
This is all the proof i need to know the stars, sun and moon revolve around us. Flat earth.
4:15 It would be easy for someone who's not paying attention to just walk onto the frozen lake and fall right in.
It's not a lake. It's the ocean. :)

Is the snow usually deeper. Seams like winter started LATE
That winter was like this for New England in general, not just Maine. I remember we were pretty low on snow in Connecticut to start off 2015, but once January got to its final week, it wouldn’t quit snowing for the rest of that winter. It was NOT easy getting around in that snow, let me tell ya.
The snow and the sky is awesome
River is frozen jus like that...
Lovely but brrrrrrrrrr!
Wow Maine is so beautiful. But doesn't this video show a typical winter in Maine? This is kinda what I expect it to look like.
beautiful
I hope I’m not the only that thinks Maine is beautiful in the winter yet so hard
same with NB, it gets annoying if it snows past march 15th lol
I lived in Maine briefly during a difficult time. It was so beautiful, but it was the long, freezing cold and depressing winter finally drove me away. I’ve returned to visit a relative. Now that she has passed away, I doubt I’ll go back to visit again anytime soon.
I agree. Although i live in the UK so i'm confused on why it's light outside at 6am. 🤔 Usually it only gets bright ish at 8 30 circa.
@@sxnsei1176 because we are more north then Maine, we are at the same Elevation as Quebec, but due to the gulf stream it is warmer here.
The groups of 'speckles' seem to come & go during the frozen water. ?

This will be my first winter up in Madawaska. Oughta be interesting...
amazing
Its alive I tell you.the lake is alive.
What do all the ducks find to eat during the nasty frigid months? Obviously they're doing fine throughout this video.
