Remember it well from when I was a kid, good work lads

Gutted was the first cinema i went to as a boy. Seen all the Star Wars when they were re-released in the 90’s. Was a magical place for me.

I used to go to this Odeon cinema when it was first opened, it was a fantastic place. Just why does every abandoned building in Dundee have to get vandalised and destroyed by locals. Such a shame to see the insides just smashed up and everything left lying around the place. But now this whole cinema is now demolished and another Home Bargains shopping centre is built in its place .. like Dundee needs another shopping centre. !!!!

Fascinating. I really hope some of the film that was left got saved. I've been looking for Odeon idents for decades and they still elude me

As a collector of "Flicks" magazine this video is giving me the dreads that it all ended up in skip via a digger.

The only interesting thing in Dundee

This brought memories flooding back. I grew up between Dundee & Perth, although moved away from the area many years ago. I used to visit this Odeon frequently. I remember seeing at the time of release Jurassic Park, Apollo 13, Toy Story, Lion King, Twister, Men In Black and many others at this cinema.

The first song (before the hour strike) is possibly "Humpty Dumpty Sat On A Wall". Edit (Sunday/21-04-2024) Holy heck, the fourth one is Yankee Doodle!

Great catch! I once had a commercial plane passing similarly in front of the Moon, but I was doing a photo session, not a video. I saw it in the live view of my camera and I pressed the shutter button at once (obviously), but I had a 2-second timer on to prevent shaking, so the thing was gone long before I could snap the shot. Most disappointing 😞

I hate how this was abandoned, then left to ruin in the way it did, now ANOTHER Homebargains, best cinema Dundee ever had imo
