Would it be advisable to swab the septum with alcohol swab before inserting the vial? Assuming sufficient time is given for the alcohol to evaporate completely.

Sudo Nym Really? How so? I am a tech for a company called Lantheus and they tell me to swab the bacterial stats, saline vials, and collect evac vials right before eluting... is that incorrect? Thank you very much
T99m can act like a catalyst. A reaction can occur with the dehydrogenation of IPA This can affect T99m 'grow back' and therefore yield. Not really a problem until it enters the fluid path, so it's generally safe to sanitise the tops of the 0.9% w/v saline vials, as well as the vacuum vials just prior to elution. So, for sanitising it's fine, but don't introduce IPA to the fluid path!
Just allow it to dry first.
