I've been running Trimble for about 3 years now and the difference this video shows isn't in the grade control systems it's the difference in the undercarriage / machine weight we have 2 850 Deere dozers with dual 3D Trimble systems our 850C cuts like the D6K in this video our 850J LGP cuts like the D6N in this video they should have compared two machines with the same operating weight and undercarriage not two completely different machines.

Not a good comparison when comparing a D6K XL to D6N LGP. Accugrade & Trimble systems support blade rotation. The Topcon system cannot calculate the position of each corner of the blade relative to the machine travel. I also hear that the Caterpillar Accugrade and the Trimble system hardware is much more robust.

Why not put hundred more if they have already 38?

we got the same system but sux when we around trees loos signal so that where u come as the old style lol but very good system !

Its funny how they call this technology Milimeter GPS, and still explains how accurate it is in feet. Go full metric pls :)

grading problems - inexperienced contractor

There's obviously a bit if an ego issue with gps. The computer generation is infiltrating the construction industry, those open minded enough to try it immediately understand it's value. Those who refuse will spend the rest of their life doing any given task the difficult way. Regardless the argument, there is no industry left where work is done manually, except construction.

this is a great system. however this one is setup on the wrong side of the cab, looks like the unit would obstruct the view of the bucket

@outbackwanker Having gps on your machine don't makes you a shitty operator, The gps does'nt do the digging fore you, you are stil the one who operates the machine... The gps simply replaces all the stakes or pegs in the field, it shows you a digital map of the future work and your position on it

I work for speedy survey and i see all kinds of survey equipment. The Topcon GPT 9000 is by far the best machine i have seen so far and is much easier to use than the Leica TPS 1200. well done Topcon!

THE future is here!

Topcon is making a HORRIBLE business decision to not support the use of other types of data collectors. Surveyors are NOT going to want to learn to use yet another data collector. Support TDS! I own 6 Topcon robots not, but will not be upgrading to this proprietary machine. Keep the lines of communication open with all DC's! That's what I say.
