Welcome to Di's Studio Designs' TH-cam channel! This is Di here (short for Diane) and I am a dabbler in art, pyrography, faux floral design, home decor, DIY, gardening, writing, and photography...Oh, and yoga to keep me sane! This channel is my way of sharing with you my love of Celtic art, fairy houses and gardens, and seasonal floral decor. You'll get a mixture of videos that include pyrography projects, short tutorials, DIY projects, home decor tips, behind the scenes glimpses, floral design, gardening, houseplant care, and nature walks. My two cats may make an appearance every so often as well. I call them my "work buddies", but honestly I do all the work!

I have watched your videos and some more than once to absorb what you are demonstrating. Thank you for breaking this down into 1 @ a time, and then, you add another section. It is far less overwhelming doing it one small grid at a time. Great work and skillset.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad there are people who want to learn more about this beautiful art style. It's become my passion to share what I have learned over the years, and there's so much more to learn. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to see a specific design. Happy drawing!
Coming on nicly. What type of wood are you burning on?
I typically use pre-cut wood plates made of basswood for these types of projects.
I've got myself a wood burning kit and was thinking of using it to produce some Celtic art like this. Very nice work.
Thank you! Wood burning is the perfect medium for Celtic art!
love your work, thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for being here!
Tm i am going to try
Happy drawing!
Hello again Di! Yes I did see where you were wood burning your platter or bowl with what looked like a castle. Very nice. I look forward to additional tutorials in the future. Great ideas can be had. John
Absolutely! I've been busy doing other projects but wood-burning projects are coming soon!
I'm a woodturner, I have some round turning blanks and was thinking of making a 13" platter for the dinner table. The round celtic knot will be just the design to accent such a piece. Thank you very much for your clear and in-depth instructions. Even we woodworkers need help. John
You're so very welcome! I often wood-burn these types of designs onto wood plates. The look is eye-catching!

This is WAYY too clever for the amounts of views/likes it has. Thanks very much for helping me through this, i just finished it and it looks amazing!
Thank you so much for watching and giving this design a try! There will be more little drawing exercises like it coming soon!
Thank you. 😊 Do you make your own flowers? 🌹
I buy faux florals from places like Factory Direct Craft, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels and use them in my handcrafted floral designs and candle holders.
Thank you so much. I think I got ! 👍
👏👏👏
I have tried this all day but I seem to have missed how to connect over the brakes. Still missing something. 🤔
When the thread goes over (or under) the break line it will hit the edge of the grid. You then turn and go to the diagonal (45 degree angle) for your new direction. Round out the corner to create a smooth thread. Hope that helps!

How many squares are in you grid?
In this tutorial, my grid is 2 down and 9 across. But I encourage you to experiment just to see what works...and what does not!
You are a great teacher! I am going to spend my days so much better with your technology. I spent days trying to figure these out by myself.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad these tutorials are helping people learn this amazing art form!
Thank you! Quite helpful, I was able to play with your ideas and technique , you have expanded my repertoire
You're quite welcome! Thank you for your kind words!
Thank you for making this so easy and fun.
You are so welcome! Thank you for being here!
This version is is great up to drawing the circles and the division of sections....ie the grid in circular form. However to draw the knot.....this is not what I would use. Perhaps try the Nichols way on this grid.
If you are referring to David Nichols thank you for the reminder! It's been a while since I watched his videos but here is a link to his technique for drawing the threads...th-cam.com/video/K6cNg-SGis8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=16kzdfH4wzD0ffNW
This is gorgeous, the stippling really looks wonderful on wood and really looks like an inked drawing. I love how fine your linework is and the way the design weaves in a really controlled & fluid way!
Thank you so much for your kind words! One of the things I love about Celtic knots is the intricate linework. I've been experimenting with different techniques for new projects, and I plan to create another video soon with a new design.
Thank you sm! I've always wondered how these sorts of designs were drawn, your style is so clean and fluid. Can't wait to see more from your channel <3
Thank you! One of the upcoming videos will be another pattern from a Celtic cross I am working on. So stay tuned!

This is one of my favorite knots to draw!
I try to draw this art❤
Thank you, Di. Have done some other ones but this twist is really nice.
Glad you're enjoting my videos! My next videos will be on creating patterns for my Celtic Cross. A little more complicated but should be fun!

I admire your work with the celtic knots. I find them to be challenging. Nice job on the pyrography too!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching my videos! It's encouraging to know that there is an interest in this type of art and is inspiring me to come up with new ideas for tutorials!
Very cleverly done
Many thanks!
I love your way ❤

What brand is the eraser for fine lines? Love your work.
Thank you so much for the compliment! The eraser I use for small areas is the Pentel Clic Eraser. This isn't really a tutorial, you just laid out your grid, added the circles, then quickly started with the lines as if you're in a hurry, not i.pressed!
Very interested❤
Keep up the great work, thank you so much for sharing 🎉❤
Thank you! I didn't realize how many people love this art style! There is so much more to share so more videos will be appearing soon!
Very calming and enjoyable to watch. Could you please tell me where yo purchased the plate from?
Thank you @russellball4053! I usually buy my plates from Michael's or off Amazon.
I am having a tough time finding that exact type of plate anymore, but here are a couple links... www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Wood-Crafts-Blank-Surfaces/Shapes/Round-Wood-Plate---Large/p/28561 www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVGMYDWT?coliid=I25NXMWPCPG5WR&colid=TOBDXUO58P44&psc=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=disstudiodesi-20&linkId=44f2355a39f9c4e8cd3432b9b6eaf06f&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl (I am an Amazon affiliate.)
Thanks Di! Unfortunately Amazon US will not ship this item to Australia and is not available from Amazon Australia. I also cannot access Hobby lobby from here. Thanks for your efforts anyway. @@DisStudioDesigns
@@russellball4053 Sorry I couldn't be of more help! You could try local hobby or craft store sites in Australia for unfinished wood plates, wood chargers, or even clock disks.
