    I'm having deja vu by watching this video because it reminds of when I bought a one-way flight to Gothenburg, Sweden and I was so ready to fly out there but what made me postpone my big adventure was the fact that I had nothing with me such as zero cash, no residence permit, no work permit, no place to call home after my hotel stays were over. This is reigniting my passion to pack up again and do better planning!

  • @lissiaj8599

    Firstly I don't believe Australian's should be the first choice for work 'just because'. Prove that you are capable of doing the job and doing it well then maybe foreigners who can and do prove their worth in the field won't get those jobs. Take Doctors for example, I don't care if you're black, white, rainbow or speak with a bloody accent I want to know you are competent or more at your profession. Secondly, people can and do lose their accents when they live in another country for an extended period. I think the only word I consistently heard the Aussie accent on was 'job'.

    No wonder there are not jobs for Australians because of all the overseas people taking them. Unbelievable, and then they go on our social security and I have to wait 13 weeks before I am even allowed to get it and then to be told I need to wait another 13 weeks. You look around in Centrelink and you need to play the game called "Spot the Aussie", as I have found out, nearly 95% who were in that office getting Centrelink or even working there were not true blue Aussies. And whats this crap about getting interpretors for them. WOW!!

      She was there for three years. I've been all over the US, and my East Coast accent has changed in so many ways that when I go back to the east coast, I am noted as not sounding like I'm from there. When you travel a lot, your accent becomes quite the Frankenstein. It is called "adaptation."

  • @jammasteracct488
    @jammasteracct488 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    This doesn't make sense.... if she just picked up and left the US, the Aus customs would do there best to clarify if she was there for holiday or work and other inquiries. If she said she was going for work and didn't have a work visa, which obvi she didn't cause she didn't already have a job. They would refuse her entry and if she lied and said she wasn't there for work, but then obtained a job, it would have been done illegally and she would face immediate deportation.

      have watever the required amount of coin u need to be accepted for a visa. buy the ticket and go for it. head to some of the smaller cities first with populations round the 100k - 250k in qld. they will be near smaller towns that u can get a job fruit picking to start off. backpacker places r everywhere and round 20 bucks a night. also queensland is the sunshine state and has 300 days of sunshine and since the wet season is over sunshine for the next 6 months gaurenteed. its also where the great barrier reef is and thats bout to get destroyed within the next 10 years, so come see it while u can.

      This is Sky, the girl from the video. If someone told me 8 years ago that I would be living in Perth, Australia I would tell them they were crazy! I came to Australia as a result of meeting my Aussie husband while backpacking solo through South and Central America for 6 months. It was not an easy trip as a woman on my own but it was a wonderful adventure and brought me to the next step of my life, which turned out to be Australia. The point of the video was to encourage people who feel stuck in a rut at home to be open to new experiences, take risks and have faith that you can land on your feet.

    Dangerous flora? i can't think of one single life threatening plant. As for dangerous animals, there are many more large predators in America, eg bears, wolves. The smaller creepy crawlies are rarely seen in urban areas. I have lived in Sydney all my life and have only seen a snake twice - both times in Queensland.
