Thanks Buddy! This an early 60's early 70's Tejano song recorded by Big Lu y Los Muchachos. Back than Tejano Music was begining to get huge as Mexican Americans were starting to assimilate more into the American fabric of life. The songs were sung in Spanish some with a few English words included, but the concept was taken from the Big Band Era. This band would have had a Rhythm section and a Horn section with an assortment of trumpets, Trombones French horns etc.. The most succesful group from this era that is still active and that shared the same stage with Willie Nelson and various others Is Little Joe and the Familia. Their Music is a mixture of Tejano country with blues , jazz infusion. I'm just Nostalgic! Lol thhe has an old song called Redneck Mezkin Boy cool song sang in English.

Zager 80 OM sold by the guy who helped write and recorded the 1969 song In the Year 2525. They also sell a Zager 20, a Zager 50 and the Flag Ship guitar Zager 900 which I have.

Thank you. The melody parts in this type of song are usually played with horns. Memories from when I was young in Texas.

Thanks Martin. I hope you and your wife had a good Christmas. Just so you know I have issues singing in Harmony due to a high frequency right ear hearing loss. Back ground noise will also add to the problem. Lol. This problem actually got me disqualified from getting hired at TSA years ago.

Tejano Music utilizes many Jazz style chords and chord progessions. Im just trying to learn some of rhe basic ones. A Poco No by Big Lou also has Jazz stuff asides from primera segunda y tercera. Some of those Tejano guitarists are just awesome at playing Jazz,

Hi Martin. Luis is singing and playing the guitar. His son Miquel is playing the bass. They live in Shelton. They have a very good band called Luis Rivas y Grupo Testamento. They have several videos on You Tube. They are actually reversed in this video Luis is the Bass player and Miguel plays guitar and Bajo Quinto. His other two sons play accordion and drums. They were trying out the Boss Singer Pro Amp I sold them.

Hi Martin, back in Wa? I was using the Harmony setting on my Boss Pro Singer. It has 3 settings A 3rd above, a 3rd below and Unison. Unfortunately I just sold the Amp to a friend to pay of some bills .lol!! Ill probably end up buying a Helicon Harmony pedal later on. I also used it on the one song called Ingratos Ojos Mios.Thanks for watching.

Its called Mi Carruchita (old beater car) The Latin Society Band 1960's 70;s Tejano/Chicano Orquestra plus the English part is from a polka played by Los Garcia Brothers from a song called Jefes Special (dads special). I just pieced it together. The Intro part is supossed to be a Car horn. Song Is about a guy with an old beater that carries young women to pick cotton, the car breaks down so he is encouraging the girls to work faster so that they can buy another car so they can continue to party! It loooses some in the translation. Goodnight this old man is going to bed now. lol

Gretsch Guitars G5427T Electromatic Hollowbody Single-Cut Flame Maple Top with Bigsby Limited Edition Electric Guitar Orange Stain. I believe the Midnight Blue one has the Tombstone inlays. Great guitar!! The pickups produce a thinner sound than the ones on the G5420. My webcan does not do the color justice it is much brighter in real life. lol ! Hogans Hideout has a review/demo of both guitars on You Tube. I hope this helps.

Oh yea I also have it tuned down one whole step to D. That way I can play and sing in A. There's more juicy licks in the key of A.

I have my 12 string in D and my others in standard !!

@@maezvega2751 the starting licks on the song are horns. I tried to imitate them.

I will certainly try. I dont have software for tabs.What I usually do is play the requinto part as slowly as possible trying not to cover up which strings im playing. You can always slow it down further. Thank you for watching Fidel.

I was feeling nostalgic! lol. grew up in the Rio Grande Valley South Texas, what i call a Hot bed for all types of music, Mariachi, Norteno, Conjunto, Blues , Rock, Country and Western. Yes I said country and Western. ha, ha.. Bill Haley retired there, Bob Wills was huge in Texas, btw check out the Playboys of Edinberg they had a huge hit with a song titled Lets get back to Rock and Roll 1969.

Norteno (there is a norteno style that is gangasta rapp this is not it.) is sung in Spanish and is basiclly Country music about, love , life, beer drinking, tradedy, divorce etc... and yes your truck and dog can be taken from you in Norteno songs ha, ha. It derived from the Mexican people borrowing the Polka Beat from the European settlers and giving it their own flavor especially with the button accordion.
