Hi guys….beautiful job. Just wanted to share something with you. First off, I was a concert pianist and played with orchestras all over. I also used to play and sing everywhere. My father, MARTIN TUCK, actually wrote Mam’selle, while he was in Juilliard. After graduating, he as drafted into WW2 as the bombardier on the B17. They were one the rare crews that did that many missions and survived. Edmund Goulding came to Italy where he was stationed, because he heard of this song by someone he knew from Juilliard, and needed a cover/background song for his new movie, THE RAZOR’S EDGE. My father was newly married with a baby on the way, and needed the money. Ironically, my dad knew so many people that he grew up with, and those he was in Juilliard with, that became major celebrities. We used to have a lot of dance and dinner parties when my brother and I were growing up, with a lot of them there, but we didn’t know who they were….then. There have been countless articles written about my dad and Mam’selle. I JUST FOUND TONIGHT his original score! I used to hang out with my dad a lot, and I would be in his office doing work for him (to this day, I’m still obsessed with office supplies, lol!), and if there’s ANYONE that knew my father’s writing…it was me. Just thought I’d bring you in the loop.
