IWI Tavor Bolt Carrier Stop Lever Falls out
Be careful when field stripping the IWI Tavor to prevent the bolt carrier stop lever from falling out. This can happen if you're not careful when removing the sear mechanism.
Great Tavor series for disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.

Remington 241 SpeedMaster Field Strip and Assembly
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I got a lot of positive feedback on my Mossberg 500 video so decided to do another. I inherited this gun many years ago and didn't get an owners manual. I had to figure out a lot of stuff the hard way and hoping this video helps others. I don't do many videos like this so forgive me if it's not super polished. Just hoping to help somebody that might be struggling with this.
Mossberg 500 Trigger Assembly Stuck
มุมมอง 8K6 ปีที่แล้ว
When your Trigger Assembly for the Mossberg 500 won't come out. Try this.
Well done, sir! Thanks!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
Yo this literally was my issue trying to disassemble a brand new 590A1. Thanks for making this video!
Great video. I have cleaned this thing many times with no issues. My first thought was to take off the stock, but I thought that was the wrong answer. You convinced me I was wrong and loosening the stock proved it. Thank you!
Thanks! I'm glad it helped.
You saved me dude, THANK YOU as well! I was going crazy following the other disassembly videos ("hmmm their bolt release lever didn't fall out!")
I'm glad it helped. It's definitely a tricky part!
I have five of these model #241's in caliber 22 Long Rifle except one being a 22 short. The gun of my days as a young boy. One of the components that is tricky to install and sometimes missing on these rifles is the shell stop spring. One can easily see the shell stop at the very top of the receiver or looking down into the receiver after pulling out the trigger assembly out. The shell stop has a round cavity next to it which is where the spring goes into in order for the shell stop to function. It is a very small spring and is a headache and a half to replace/install. One has to compress the spring and use dental picks to install it. The spring has to be the right size and compress fully when actuating the shell stop. I have had to buy some from parts dealers but most of them are not the right length or have too hard of a tension. A Dremel tool works good for removing some of the coils to make the spring fit as needed. The gun will shoot without the spring but it will not cycle the 22 shells right and will jam. In the past I bought two 241 Remington's that were missing this spring and had to fix them. Another tricky spring is the one inserted into a special screw that holds the shell follower up against the breech. The only way to remove this spring is to remove the barrel and the trigger assembly as shown in the video above. Looking down onto the barrel cavity where the barrel goes into the receiver one will notice a small screw on the left hand side of the receiver. A small screwdriver is required to remove it. This screw is really a pin that keeps the main screw from the side of the receiver in place with its spring. The main screw on the side of the receiver is also a pin but looks like a screw. One will see these pin screws on the side of the #241 receivers all banged up because people have tried to remove them. This pin screw with no threads on the side of the receiver will not turn no matter how much force one applies. The reason being is that they are pinned from the inside next to the barrel threads by a small threaded screw. The sequence is how one removes the shell follower which is spring loaded into place.
Interesting. Thanks for the comment.
THANK A MILLION!
I'm glad it helped!
I also inherited this rifle - still is a tack-driver on the target range - very accurate! It is in very good condition, but hasn't been field-striped and cleaned in at least 40 years. Thank you very much for taking the time to post this video - very helpful and now a much happier rifle!
I'm glad this helped! I agree that it's a great rifle.
yes it helped me since i just acquired this rifle in the 22 short only version. i wonder if reinstalling the springs it might be an advantage in putting springs into bolt first and using it as a guide/handle to push/compress them into place. ? i will give it a try thanks for this vid.
Great thought on the springs. To be honest, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll give that a try on my next round too. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you 😊
Glad this was helpful.
Thanks! Couldn’t get my trigger group back in after disassembly and cleaning. This did the trick.
Glad this helped! I didn't think of it, but I guess it would also affect getting it back in place.
Thanks for your video iv inherited my dad's old 22 . Unfortunately he kept it in its original gun bag and she is in bad shape. Mine doesn't have a bolt on the side to break the gun down, just a small button that is flush. This was frozen until I watched your video. Cheers
Glad it helped. Good luck getting yours restored!
I have a rifle similar to this one but out of nowhere it stopped feeding the ammunition, sometimes it feeds but it doesn't close completely, could it be a spring? and all cleaning is up to date on the equipment, can anyone help me?
I really appreciate someone making it possible for me to find answers to questions I have about an 80 year-old rifle I just purchased.
I'm glad it was helpful.
That spring is a doozie to replace. I got my s/l/lr model 241 20 yrs ago for $125. From the same guy I got another one that only shoots shorts, also $125. Those days are long gone unfortunately. Beautiful simple design.
I completely agree. This is an amazing design once you understand the workings. Even completely gunked up (like it was when I got it), it shots consistently without any problems. I've never had an FTE or FTL with this one. I don't love loading using a rod this way, I prefer the Marlin style of side loading, but I can't complain with this one! Thanks for the comment.
Great video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you. I am the person your video helped!
This helped. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this info ! I just got my 241 and it’s like brand new ! I paid too much but I’m happy !!
How much is too much? I seen one for sale local to me want to SEE if the price is right
I had trouble with that long spring. So I cut a plastic straw about 1” long, slit it lengthwise, put it around the spring, and closed the slit with a tiny piece of blue painters tape. The straw helped corral the spring until I got the pin seated. Then it was easy to remove the tape and pull off the straw.
That's a great idea. Thanks for the comment, I'm going to try that.
you definitely helped me with mine. had it for 13 years and never did a proper deep clean on it because I never could figure out how to take it apart the right way.
I'm glad this helped. Thanks for watching.
Check your hammer too folks if you got some milage on your mossberg. Had an issue similar to this where the action was stiff and required force to return forward. Also struggled to remove the trigger assembly. My hammer had developed slight deformation from usage. The hammer had developed two protruding ridges from being flattened against the bolt. These ridges caught the bolt slide while working the action.
Thanks , great advice. My cross pin was centred, but it was still catching on the wood and the stock screw somehow. Loosen it off a few turns and it released. Had to be loosened to install as well.
Thank you! I wouldn't have figured this out.
This was a great video. Saved me a ton of trouble! A couple of things: the nut is 1/2". Good info for folks to know. Also, getting the pin back in it's place was way hard until I took a Dremel and rounded a concave curve on a slot head screw driver so I could both push against the spring and align the pin to it's hole at the same time. Thanks again!
Great tips! Thanks for the feedback and helpful info.
Thanks ! I never would have figured that out !
Thank you very much!!!
Glad it helped.
good job just got a 1947-made 241 in astounding condition but still needs cleaning
Thanks! Hope the video was helpful.
Great video thanks for the tip.
Thanks. Happy to help.
Appericate you! 100% helpful.
Fantastic. I'm glad it helped.
Just helped me thanks
Glad it helped. Thanks.
Thanks
You're welcome. Glad it helped.
Thank you for your efforts. I find if I cock it first then drop it into the receiver it fits snuggly. Thanks again.
Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.
Thank you!!
Thank you
Dude thanks for that I've been looking on TH-cam since I bought this gun on how to clean it. Bought it in really good condition the stock looks like it's never been touched before all the blooming is still there someone added an offset scope mount what's a weaver tube style scope. It still has its front and rear sights to. Haven't tried it yet just cuz I want to know how to field strip at 1st and clean it so thank you.
I just inherited one of these from my uncle. Had NO idea how to disassemble it for cleaning, and I’m a police armorer! Thanks for the video. Super helpful.
Best video on this by far!!! Little tips and tricks really really helped!!!
I'm really glad it helped. Thanks!
Thank you, brother. I just inherited one that was filthy. Thanks to your vid I got it all scrubbed and lubed and ready to go! 🏆
You ended my frustration with my 835. Thank you.
Glad it helped! I wasn't aware that the 835 worked in a similar fashion. Thanks.
Definitely helped me. Thanks.
Good God, I can't tell you how much this helped solve my angst and consternation. Hopefully this simple fix resolves the issue I've been having. At the very least, I can get to the trigger group now and inspect it.
Happy to see this helped you.
thank you I had exactly problem with my trigger group .
Thanks man when I get home I’ll have to try this but for a while this has been a big pain in my ass
If your trigger housing is stuck after taking the trigger housing pin out, my guess is that this will fix the problem. Good luck!
@@FamilyMelton thanks man
It worked
Some thread locker might stop that..dunno
Helped me out! thank you!
