I believe its based on how many rings you acquired during the cup (as in how many rings you still have on you at the end of each track)
I am not 100% sure, but I believe it depends if you did really well in the races by getting 1st often, having 50 rings, and having more than 5 continues. Again, this is how I see it, so it could be incorrect.

does being in front of the ufo for a while count as hitting it?
Yes, if you have an item and it's direct line of impact, it will hit the UFO, but the UFO will always try to stay in front of you. This isn't always a good thing as the UFO can tumble you if you're in front of it.

comenting again because i just ended watching the video, heres 3 things i noticed: the "crazy guy" you saw in world 2 is the secret character from that world! every world has a secret character that reveals part of the lore a thing you got wrong is that you can play the worlds and levels in multiplayer, they are not singleplayer! but since no one plays the game, its fine if you came to that conclusion D: and lastly, in the "loose subject" level there was a lot of lasers and dash cubes because theres 2 ways to beat that level the first way is the one you beated it like the second way is being seen by the eyes (makes the red lasers dissapear) and grab the dash cube to just run from the monster thing

It is. Perfecting the levels in this game makes you feel like a gaming god, it’s probably the most fun I’ve had with a Roblox sonic game.

I've and most likely you have seen it done way too many times for it to be a coincidence. I just wish there were more adventure obbies like Adventure Forward and huh... really that's all I remember!
