He's a killer... Of R-Type 2!

Great run ! R-type 2 is really hard, especially the second loop. Well done dude ! If you want, I have a channel (search my pseudo) who spoke about shmup, retro etc and 1CC with commentary to help people to master and achieve this kind of game. It's in french.

😮 how long did it take you to get this good? I've been playing the Sega Master and can get to level 6 on a good day I feel I need a better strategy to be more consistent to plow through the levels each and every time

I like that Irem turned Super R-Type into a mashup of previous series titles. R-Type II clearly made up half of that game, and I like that the SNES had a much better musical and effects presentation. Well above this arcade release IMO. It's just sucks that especially in stages 5 and 6 of Super R-Type the slowdown (being an absolute 1st-generation SNES title) was so pervasive at the time that most of the late-game difficulty was down to that aspect. I think they could have pulled off some of the additional touches in the ending as well, given the level of content much later games had and megabit sizes.

This game, to me, is more frightening than any horror movie. The claustrophobia and dread is off the scale.
