    I have this exact rose but paid full price(45$ at a local nursery). And it was worth every penny. Planted it late summer/early fall. In 6 months, it has probably doubled in size and at least a hundred blooms. Because of inflation, since then I have focused on "rehabbing " half price roses. Roses are the only plant I've had a hundred percent success with.

    • @JazzandBlooms
      @JazzandBlooms 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      WOW! I consider myself very lucky to have taken a chance on it . I agree, it’s a very prolific bloomer. It’s at the point where I had to give it a hard trimming this year to tame it a bit 😀. Yes! I love that you have such success with roses. I’ve tried with hybrid tea roses back in 2020 , they did well for the first two years but then we moved and they didn’t get much attention so I think that contributed to them going bad… I just uploaded a Lowe’s video showcasing new selections and I have my eye on the ‘ Princesse Charlene de Monaco.’ Are you familiar with that one?

    How long is peony season? When it’s done, I’ll have to wait another year before I can see them again. They’re one of my favorite flowers. Synthetic flowers are nice, but can’t compare to fresh flowers. I can’t grow them here in Southern California. They are so lovely. Like living ruffles.

    • @JazzandBlooms
      @JazzandBlooms 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So my peonies are usually in full bloom by Memorial Day . The blooms may last a week or two depending on the weather. Heavy rain will definitely ruin the blooms….sadly. They smell heavenly and are so pretty when in bloom but the downside is that they don’t last long… These were planted long before we moved to this home so I decided to keep them. Last year I planted dahlias to have longer blooming flowers in front of them. Thank you! Hope this helps 🌹

      @@AChicagoWoman I actually have never bought nor planted ranunculus. I’ve thought about it because I think they’re beautiful. I think that’s another spring blooming plant . I just might grab some next spring season. For now, my spring blooming plants are daffodils , grape hyacinths, tulips, dayLillies and peonies. For summer my two favorites are hydrangeas and dahlias. Does ranunculus grow well in your area?

    I do not shop at Home Depot, as they are not environmentally friendly, to say the least. They sell flowering plants treated with neonicotinoids, which kill bees and pollinators that feed on these plants! They market them with a tag as though this is a good thing, which is an unthinkable omission/misrepresentation. Our bees have been in terrible trouble for years. People need to know, if they don't think they care: Without bees, we will have no food ourselves. Please consider this when buying plants anywhere.

    Last fall I dug up most of my daylilies because I hated the foliage. Kept getting leaf streak. I kept Jersey Spider, my favorite in several spots, and a few others, but flanked them with Walkers Low catmint to hide the daylily foliage. Sometimes, you just have to move on, right? Nice video. Your garden looks pretty!

    • @JazzandBlooms
      @JazzandBlooms 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s so exciting to see them flush out after a long winter but after they bloom it’s a struggle smh….. I still have a lot surrounding the trees by the curb but I guess I can deal with those….. for now lol. Great idea adding the catmint to hide the old foliage! I’m thinking I may plant supertunias around the heucheras to fill in the spaces this year. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! All the best this gardening season😊🌹.

    Eventually they will no longer reduce prices on their plants. They will be going to a pay by scan system. No plants will be in their systematic inventory. If it doesn't sell, it will either be sent back to the plant's vendor, or discarded when past it's prime.

    • @JazzandBlooms
      @JazzandBlooms 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow that’s strange. Were you told this by someone at the store?

    • @markhundley9963
      @markhundley9963 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JazzandBlooms I used to be a live nursery specialist for Lowe's. Lowe's did away with that position a few years back. They told us that at about the same time. Currently, all of the Bonnie plants are pay by scan as are all of the plant bulbs. There are also certain shrubs that come in on wooden racks that are the same. They're doing it to eliminate loss. They're also doing it to eliminate having to hire as many people to tend to their inventory. Eventually, they will have no plant loss and no need to reduce prices which contributes to these losses. The company has went through so many changes over the last 5 years. Some of the changes in my opinion are not good.

    • @JazzandBlooms
      @JazzandBlooms ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, no problem. As it grows , most of the upper leaves will turn towards your light source ( the sun, window light etc,) . At first the back was facing me but I started rotating it every couple weeks and eventually I had leaves facing every direction….hope that makes sense 😀. If I have guest over, need to take a pic beside it 😀, or just want to see the leaves from the best angle, I just turn it around for that moment.

    Hi, I love your Monstera. I just bought a small one about 2 feet tall and 2 feet wide for my bedroom. I can't wait for it to grow up but I'm learning that when they're grown there's the challenge of critters. How do you prevent critters that attack them? I'm reconsidering having it in the bedroom but again it would give me the perfect vibe to relax. How do you deal with any issues that arise? Have you had any issues with your Monstera?

    • @JazzandBlooms
      @JazzandBlooms ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Thank you very much . Congratulations on your new purchase. I love monsteras. They are no fuss and grow super fast with good lighting. I have two since they were really small as well. I’ve repot this one before placing it in my bedroom so I know the soil doesn’t have any critters. I also repot it again last year as it’s growing so fast. I occasionally spray it with organic Neem oil. Maybe that helps but honestly I don’t have any critter issues with any of my indoor plants. 🤞🏽. I also only hang white/light color curtains and keep the space clutter free to avoid any unforeseens…. all good so far. I hope this helps 🌱😊.
