Born and raised in Taiwan, violist Ellie Welker lives for performing. She graduated from The University of Southern California majoring in viola performance and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Taipei National University of the Arts. She has toured around the world and collaborated with renowned artists and musicians such as Asian pop star JJ Lin, Grammy Award winner Zedd, and Hollywood composer Christopher Young. She is also the winner of the 2023 Southwest Symphony Concerto Competition. Ellie’s mission is twofold. As a devout Christian, she is passionate about sharing her testimony of Jesus Christ through music. Additionally, she aims to promote viola music and inspire all to become better acquainted with its beautiful sound. In addition to her musical endeavors, Ellie loves to connect with people. I had the privilege of performing Ms. Belliston's rendition of "Abide with Me; 'Tis Eventide" The first time I heard this song on Spotify, in its piano solo version, I knew I wanted to play it. Upon reaching out to her, she graciously arranged a viola rendition for me. I must admit, it's one of the most beautiful versions I've ever had the pleasure to perform. I extend my gratitude to Ms. Belliston for the heartfelt melodies, both on the piano and the viola.
While contemplating the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ, particularly during His time in the Garden of Gethsemane, praying for each of us, this song prompted thoughts of deep introspection. We all have our own moments of darkness and loneliness, when we try to reach out but find no one to turn to. Thankfully, our beloved Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ are always by our side. When there's no one else in this world who understands, they know and they care about you.They listen and answer your prayers.

Hello! I just read from treble clef; most of the notes can be played on the viola. If too high, shift down an octave.

Hi Michael! I do not have a version of this written in music. I just used the 2 songs on Children’s hymn book and I asked the pianist to bridged it together.
The pianist has the same music as we do, she just improvised on her part.
