Fun fact: according to the COE henry was only married twice. He anulled 4 of his marraiges.
Loved this edit ❤
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. ❤️
The way Henry looks at Elizabeth when she turns her back and leaves, probably because he remembered her mother
This was a great show. Although I don’t believe Jane was as innocent and virtuous as she’s portrayed.
Elizabeth was much prettier as a teen.
WTF were the women wearing on their heads 😂 not even close to a French hood. Hair covered ladies! These looked like some kind of weird coronet. If you’re going to make an historical drama, do some research!
Just to even be acknowledged is enough to say my child. If only he saw her rule over britian.
He was "SOMETHING".😳
I think there was not such a big age difference between Elizabeth and Edward. She was only 2 y.o. when Anne was executed and Jane was alreay with Henry by then
They were about four years apart in reality. Yes, I would have guessed about 10 years here - he looks maybe 6 and she looks 16.
Sweet scene but of course it's fiction. Jane didn't pay attention to Elizabeth. Anne of Cleves doted on Elizabeth and Catherine Parr was a loving stepmother til Thomas Seymour screwed up that relationship with his ambitions.
They treated the princesses terrible in real life😢
What is this scene from?
The TV series called The Tudors.
@@thetudortimes thank you!
“I would like to introduce you to my daughter “ your cousin
Jane…my feelings on her are ambivalent. She was a step up from Anne Boleyn as she was extremely kind to Mary but I don’t like how she ignored Elizabeth who needed even more help. Yes, in the show it was nice of her to send the necklace to pay for new clothes and to personally invite her to Christmas and we all wanna think Jane actually did these things but let’s be honest, people. When it came to being Elizabeth’s stepmother, she was no better than Anne Boleyn
Jane Seymour is portrayed to be sweet and innocent but I think as soon as Henry showed any interest in her. She knew what Henry wanted and that was an heir and she put herself forward for this challenge. I think Jane Seymour played a part in the downfall of Anne Boleyn.
Ann Boleyn was just a scapegoat, for scheming, conniving men.
@@thetudortimes wouldn’t surprise me. Anne wasn’t the nicest queen to work for and so, I can imagine a fed up Jane would
What if Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard got an annulment from Henry the 8 and were sent away how do you think there lives would have been like as the years progressed and there reaction towards certain events that happened in England?
He wouldn't have allowed it even with wishful thinking. There is proof now that he did truly love Anne. Probably more then any other wife. Letters were found.
Even if Henry VIII spared Anne Bolyne There be fear of a backlash that could cause damage to the king. I think Henry Thomas Cromwell fear this most.
@@NefariousLynx it’s just a what if he allowed both Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard to live really. Yes unfortunately, that is true Henry the 8 wouldn’t have allowed Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard to live.
@@thetudortimes what about for Cathrine Howard and yeah I think allowing Anne Boleyn to live could be a bit of a danger. Maybe not as big as it was when Catherine of Aragon marriage was annulled but still.
Catherine Howard was a child and I don't think it was right that she was selected to marry Henry VIII. If Henry VIII would have spared Catherine Howard she would have probably gone on to marry Thomas culpepper if he would have been spared too. I don't think they would have been a threat to the country or to King Henry VIII.
Was Catherine Howard so silly and stupid? But her past indiscretions caught up with her, thankfully.🤔
Cause she's 14
Catherine Howard probably had no idea that she would be queen one day. But unfortunately she was pushed to marry the king. She was young and naive.
@@Reshme77 she was older than that, jesus christ
@@daesgatling1345 she was in the age window of 14-17, as it was unclear what the exact date of her birth was. Even if we take higher number, she was still pretty much a child.
@@Alena-cz7hjwe don't know the exact date but historians are pretty good at getting the year right. She was 17 and died at 19. Catherine of aragon was Queen longer than she lived. She was a child from an ambitious family and moved as a chess piece by men.
As far as I know, Jane never made any overtures to help Elizabeth, but I could be wrong. Mary was good to her as a child but of course their relationship soured as their religious differences and political factions and incidents became a cause for Mary to be resentful, jealous and suspicious of Elizabeth.
No Jane didn't. Mary did share her good fortune with Elizabeth. Lady Bryan wrote Cromwell begging for Elizabeth's needs.
Hampton Court Palace is one of my favourite places. Thank you for your comment 😊
Awesome place ❤ Thank you for sharing 🙂
Jane was my favorite. She was so beautiful inside and outside ❤
2:09 That handmaiden reminded me that there was no central cooling unit in these stuffy castles. I would die🥵
She would have been such a good Daenerys in Game of Thrones.
Princess Elizabeth and Queen Catherine are 2nd cousins
Actually Catherine was first cousin to Anne Boleyn, so she's a first cousin once removed to Elizabeth.
Creepy tv series, romanticizing a creepy wife-killing tyrant
History may be creepy to today's standards but 500 years ago it was completely normal.
I would not say it romanticizes Henry VIII. It mostly reaches the same conclusion anyone naturally would that Henry VIII was a deeply troubled man who did a lot of horrible things. The show doesn't shy away from his rougher edges. I am much more unsettled by how Hamilton the Musical white-washes its portrayal of the American founding fathers and continues a long tradition of treating those men as nearly divine figures rather than as flawed human beings. To be honest, I have yet to see any mass media praise Henry VIII or shy away from his obvious flaws and likewise I have seen few if any examples of American mass media ever genuinely critique the Founding Fathers in any meaningful manner.
Ummm so says the person who apparently didn’t watch the series . Do u also ban books you didn’t read 🤪
@@thetudortimes Nobb, he was creepy even then
Not at all. It shows him at his best and worst. But you have to agree, EVERYONE around hiim told him how wonderful, kind, just, and wise he was. That's the creepiness and it happens even today. There are enough people willing to bolster the ego of the most awful people. Catherine Howard herself said as she went to the block, that her punishment was 'worthy and just' which shows you how they thought... crazy but true. So I think the show has done a good job with Henry.
This woman that plays Queen Catherine Howard has a weird look to her
I think she's beautiful and played Queen Catherine Howard perfectly.
I think she's gorgeous, and yeah, she captured Catherine Howard's youth and vivaciousness very well.
@@RoseRedd-k4b Yes definitely. The best Catherine Howard in my view was the movie Henry VIII and his 6 Wives, played by Lynne Frederick
@@brontewcat I will have to see that someday.
That red hair on Elizabeth is iconic.
It’s a terrible wig. In reality her hair would’ve been much brighter red.
@@Brownsocksflirt The shot where it is lit by the window looks more like what I would expect.
I think he would've given jane anything she wanted. She gave him a son, probably would've given him more, she was also kind and obedient, the type of queen henry needed.
The Anne portrayed on here was wicked and I felt no pity for her.
I would disagree because there's no evidence to suggest that Anne Boleyn was guilty. There was no witnesses at her trial.
It was one of her best scenes I just would have liked that Elizabeth Tudor recognize that Catherine Howard was her aunt
They probably all knew that they were all related.
@@thetudortimes yes, but in the series it would have been interesting to show that Lady Elizabeth lost her aunt the same way she lost her mother
*First Cousin Once Removed
Creepy tv series, romanticizing a creepy wife-killing tyrant
As theelitemanticore151 said, they were first cousins once removed, not aunt and niece, but it probably wasn't something she'd mention in front of Henry. He supposedly never spoke about Anne again, it wouldn't be a good idea to talk about her.
The scene when he sees Catherine Anne and Jane are my favorite from the entire show, especially Anne’s scene.
Great scene 😊
💓
It was actually true that anne boleyns was beautiful wow😩
I doubt it 😂
Elizabeth I is the greatest Queen of England ❤🎉
I love the 1969 BBC version "The Six Wives of Henry VIII", but the Catherine Howard episode was poorly cast. In that episode, Catherine was a churlish and mean spirited woman who routinely beat up on one of her cousins. Angela Pleasance, at 29, was also too old to be portraying her. The part of Lady Rochford (Jane Parker) was cast even worse. Sheila Birrell was unattractive and middle aged with a masculine voice. The real Jane Parker was actually younger and attractive.
@@nassauguy48 Thank you for the comment and informative information.
Very interesting story
Thanks for watching
I feel bad for both of them but more for Mary. If Phillip actually wanted to be a man, he wouldn't have been such a loser and perhaps his dinasty might have ruled over England. SAD!
Thank you for your comment. Mary she had a very turbulent and tragic life.
Firebrand, a history lesson?
The way the video started ,I mean the way it looked like doors open, it would seem like a jump scare for a woman.
That's not King Henry VIII that's chaseo
It's king Henry VIII by Hans Holbein.
He looks like chaseo
Anne of Cleves also outlived him...
Is Natalie Dormer related???
No
In those days, children were regarded as miniature adults and dressed accordingly.
No answer to my question tells me you're one of those channels that just gives a heart to every comment without attempting to read some of them I mean my god there was only one comment here and you couldn't even read it ? I won't be subscribing
Sorry I read your comments but didn't have time to answer yet. The channel been inactive. Good luck on your search .
I missed the coronation and watched a little bit of it later here on the tube but I don't recall them actually playing Spem in Alium there ... ? I'm just wondering if you added it here but did they do it at any point during the ceremony ?
That does look like Anne Boleyn.
It definitely does!!
I do agree that this is a long-lost portrait of Anne Boleyn!
Its certainly a possibility
Do they know if this painting was made in France or did it just somehow end up there, because I don’t know why Anne would be wearing a gable hood in France as that would have been unfashionable there. The only other way this could possibly be Anne is if she sent a portrait to the royal court of Francois after she was queen as a gift… but if she was queen, that would not be her coat of arms, which I am not sure is even connected to the Boleyn Family. So I have my doubts this is her.
More on this topic, please!
I will make a part 2 . Thank you for the interest in this video.
