new channels have more positivity and good vibe then those with multi milion subs.. that turned just in sales.. gracie Paolo :-) greets from a serb from Norway. :-)
Just discovered this channel and thanks for explaining so clearly and easily that even I that don't have a camera and have no idea where to begin with, can understand the concepts :) keep on rocking!
Thanks Daniel!
Very good 👍
Thank you!
neither did i
Sorry had a problem with the server in the past days. Should be back online and working now.
Excellent! I have 2 backup drives for each year. On each drive, a folder for each month, inside each folder, a folder named by day_location. So for example, today's photos stored on 2 drives named 2024, inside a Dec folder, inside the folder 8_Dec_YellowstoneWolves. Great point it is useless trying to "rescue bad photos thru editing".
Thank you! Good archiving strategy is key to keep up our photo game in the long term!
I subscribed to the newsletter but didn't get the E book.

@paolo_sartori I checked the spam folder too. I have e-mailed you 🙏
Very interesting, although I knew that. I can add a couple more tips, but this is more related to processing. 1. image reduction - we will get smaller noise, more precisely noise density + size compression algorithms will also give a small effect of noise reduction. 2. You can shoot a series of several images (preferably with a tripod), in photoshop by opening frames in layers, make a smart object and change the stack mode to averaging we will get many times less noise. Yes, it does not work everywhere, but sometimes it helps, at least through the mask you can correct some areas.
Thank you, these are great tips as well! I never tried stacking photos for NR but I know some friends who are using it with very good results. Unfortunately that only works with static subjects. But I'm sure in the near future we will see incredible improvements in software noise reduction.
@paolo_sartori Lightroom already has AI-based noise reduction, and it works very well. For example, recently I managed to get quite a normal result with images on R5 with ISO 32000, taken at night in street lighting, before the correction I probably would not have considered the images at all, but after noise reduction with AI the result was normal. The technique of layer stacking can be used when the frame itself is static (you can align the layers to each other), but the objects inside the frame can be refined with a mask. As a result, we can improve the result by masking areas with strong noise.
Very helpful, thank you.
Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions I should answer in the next video!
Love Capture One!
The best one!
Hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have anything specific we should cover in the next videos!
Good advises, thanks!

Why are you taken a pic in the dark in your home..ffs . Doesn't prove anything . 51,000 iso for a pic in a dark room pointless . Taken a pic outdoors in lowlight verging upon dark is far different .. very different to that of being in a dark unlight room
That photo is just meant to show the noise dynamics happening in the sensor. So the darkness of the room is perfect as the noise happens the same way regardless of being indoors or outdoors.
Great video : )
thank you!
Grazie mille Paolo.
Grazie!
Can't believe we are still seeing video's on BBF in 2024. Mirrorless brings a different dynamic even at entry level.
Of course there's the option of setting AF tracking mode and leave all the control to the camera. I find that new AF tracking systems combined with BBF provide the best in every situation, as there are cases where automatic tracking alone doesn't work. But of course it's a personal preference. What system do you use?
Nice
Thank you!
Thanks for the info. I have a Nikon . Do you use single point or also dynamic area when using back button focus when taking pictures of (fast) moving animals? Thanks in advance for your answer
I used Nikon for many years until moving to Canon in 2022. I try to use the smaller AF area I can, at the smaller the area, the faster and more accurate the autofocus. If the subject is moving in a very random way you have no choice but to use a big area, while if you know exactly where it will be in the frame (if it's running straight at you for example) you can even use a single point. Hope it helps!
@paolo_sartori , thanks!
When I was coming up in the 80s I was told as long as I keep the shutter speed at 30th or higher I was good and it’s always served me well as long as I do my part hold steady
Sure, back then high ISO were not a thing and the only option was to practice more to shoot steady; slow shutter speeds like that works well with non-moving subjects (as long as you hold steady, as you said). But when it comes to moving subjects there are more factors at play and sometimes we need to use much faster shutter speeds.
Been there for sure and I have pro gear
Gear helps a lot but in the end holding camera steady is still the best way to go =)
Could you please put the Link to the air blower in the beginning of the video

I just input model of cam and lens combo into Yt and find countless tutorials. They all helped me. Usually the focus system and shutter combo tweaks are enough for a world a difference
Yes every camera has specific settings, but in the end the basic principles of photography are always the same
New to photography, this was very helpful. Thx
Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help!
I use back button focus on my Sony A7iii and I love it. Thanks for the video
thank you for watching. Gonna share a lot more in the coming videos!
Great video mate, I've been using this technique very often for street photography too
thanks! Sure that technique applies to every dynamic scenario with a mix of still and moving subjects. I also use it a lot in my commercial photoshoots. Cheers!
Have always loved your work Paolo, and it's fun to see what you're shooting with. Cheers
Thank you! I'll try to post regularly from now on, so much content coming up!
