    Mosquitoes 🦟 don't lay in moving water! They pick still water to lay. So mosquitoe dunks are a money waste for your set-up as mosquitoes will leave yours alone. I put live plants in a sun/shade location and small fish in mine. And I get green frogs 🐸 in it. Though mine is three feet wide and low enough to get frogs at my gardens edge. I prefer a whole working ecosystem. Remember have mosquitoe dunks in still water not moving.

    You really helped me with one myth that I believed all of my life, in that if not all of the tap root is removed, the remaining root will just grow again, which is why I simply gave up on physically removing weeds thinking it's just a waste of time and energy!

      the advantage of leaving the tap root in is the plant will grow again, bringing more nutrients up from below for you to compost.

    Looks really nice, don't think you need the mosquito dunks as they don't like running water and I would add a GFCI outlet to your electrical source outlet.
