I met Mike 14 years ago @ Ace, through a mutual friend. He and his family has always been good to me and made me feel welcome. He's shared a lot with me and taught me things, I'll never forget. I lost my old man in 06 but in the time I've known Mike, I've always considered him a father-figure. Great interview man

Last year when Chris had his wreck and pretty much knew his championship run was over, he was in the pits gladly signing autographs and happy to talk to anyone that came up. That says a lot about the character of Chris Fleming! He definitely gained a new fan that night!

#zackstaleystadium...my grandson is autistic and I brought him to the first race of the season he was so anxious that he was picking his fingers and shaking really bad I had to reassure him it was ok ..the 2nd night we took him to the pits to see zack and he was fidgety there as well and when we got to zack and he got his shirt I said to zack he was autistic and zack said let him sign the car and he went over to sign the car and he was ecstatic..I just want to thank zack for what he does for all those kids and for trying to spread the word that just because a child has special needs doesnt mean they are any different than anybody else and they are just as special as anyone else they may need alot of attention and reassuring but they are still human ..he gets bullied alot at school because of his autism ..next year he will be attending davidson charter and maybe zack could go to the school and spread some more smiles ..thank you zack for all you do ...

I have watched you for a few years because I worked with Philip Smith when he was with Bud Hutchens and Reid Vaden and then with David Lain. I knew Gary Myers and have a story about Gary that he told me one evening watching qualifying for the Budweiser pole about his respect for Philip. Never forgot that memory. Trust you have a great year.

The original Madhouse on Discovery was awesome 11pm airtime couldn't understand that. after street outlaws. Second season on discovery+ i had no idea how to watch on pc. Discovery has no idea what people like.

This show lasted one year 11pm air time i didn't get it .was way more exciting than street outlaws that i think put madhouse out of business. i watched NASCAR for 30 years went to one truck night race bristol. because burt and Jason were running the modified race, started twice rained out 100 degrees at 1 am. they didn't run10 laps. Bristol in August sucks

Never heard about chicken, but green and peanuts yes. Got that from my dad who got it from his uncle Eb (who ran BG)

A good number of years ago, I helped a friend who raced 4 cylinder cars at BGS. One night after the first modified race, I saw a young Burt get out of his car, stand on the door and unleash the loudest, four letter word tirade I’ve ever heard at Earl Baker. Dad Gary was standing close by, and I couldn’t help but think what fate would await me if my dad had ever heard me say what Burt had just uttered! Fast forward to more recent times, and you’ll see a totally different Burt! I regularly hear him say things about his faith in God, and can’t put into words the joy it brings me to see his transformation! I’m proud of you man! Wishing you and family the best in 2024!

NASCAR has never said “if it’s not broke don’t fix it”. They have the opposite approach. Break everything then try to convince everyone it’s not broke.
