Hey young man. This is Randy in Chattanooga, Tennessee.Just found your channel. I like it, except for one thing: Too much F-BOMB use.
Hit up the corvette ben, he has parts for that car..
I’ve got one over here as well, just got it last week. It’s an 80 that sat around somewhere for decades. It’s an L- 82 so now for its restoration.

Stingray was a concept car in 1959. That concept car influenced future corvette design for years to come. In the 70s it was a marketing term only. Some of the early 70s vettes had a Stingray emblem on the fender but it was just for looks. 76 was the last year for the Stingray emblem.

Wow ..yo kid your videos are awesome since you got that tripod … that truck almost flipping over was hilarious 😂
Mint Truck
Love it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
you caught that upper timing gear just before it initiated self destruct. and that water pump doesn't look terrible, try cleaning it up and seeing if it'll seal. if it works out and feels good by hand, run it and save yourself the money to put towards the rotating assembly.
and uhhhhh....i would'nt trust those rod bearings tbh, i saw some copper showing in an upper corner. idm to tell you what to do, but i'd highly recommend that you change those out.
@@debonairecatalina6570 yes I have decided to go ahead and replace them the only thing that im not doing is main bearings and cam bearings
@@landyachtgarage dude, i'll personally help you get a set of crank/rod/cam bearings. you WILL need them. are there any machine shops in your area that you can drop off your engine at? if so, you can start gathering and organizing all your parts, then pay off the block and head work in increments that you can manage. it won't make you go broke, granted it'll be slower progress, but your end result will be a 429 BETTER than new.
@@debonairecatalina6570 just to have a block hot tanked and honed is $500 nothing else
Can’t wait too see that project done …
I found on HEAVY grease up engines I go to the dollar store and buy 2 cans of oven and grill cleaner and cover everything before pressure washing….👍👍👍
I have used oven cleaner a lot in the past just didn't have any on hand
i have a 65 Catalina Convertible myself, regrettably i have not been able to post anything about it in years because of it being a 1yr only body style and much more to mention.. i too am young, poor and have no help with it. so i feel your pain straight to my heart about finding a fender and door. i technically have a parts car for my Catalina up in Tennessee. (which took me 8 years to find) but getting help with a truck and trailer with dirt for money has been a blood toil. i don't have much here in Titusville Fl. but i will keep an eye out for any parts that may be at all useful.
Always loved the look of the front end on a 65 Catalina!
as far as fans go, i'd reccomend a 5 blade standard fan, and get a shroud for it so you get proper, concentrated airflow through the fins of your radiator. Electric fans are great, but they don't flow the CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air to keep the temperature down. As for a replacement Radiator, keep your old one as a sizing reference and find another brass one IF YOU CAN. a 4 core aluminum radiator would suffice though.
Ok thanks for the advice!
Hell yeah brother. I’m 18 just took out a 92 Toyota celica GT engine, it was a 2.2L pulled it, rebuild the head up and put on a new water pump through it back together and she runs great 👍
Right on
Kid you’re amazing doing that project all by yourself… awesome video can’t wait to see more
I'm guessing you know this but don't let the concrete bags sit to long unused, they will get hard and void if you do.
Yes it'll be a month tops
