Hartley honestly seems like a dream role.... it would be so incredibly fun to get to both play in the band, act, and sing! Absolutely would learn violin for that role
Joey - Emmerdale's Matthew Wolfenden Double J - Stephen Webb - currently Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. Corrections: Bobby C - Darren Carnall Monty - George Clayton
Victoria Clark! she's wonderful
None of you will see America. You will never know that the streets are not paved with gold.
Rip to the band on the titanic. They tried to prevent a panic and went out doing what they loved.
Big American musicals are popular in the UK it allows uk performers to sing and talk like Americans with their American accents.
I feel sad watching this on the drama channel knowing that ken and marilyn are going to die soon
Was so sad watching Ken, Andrea & Marilyn die.... 😭😭😭😭
20th Anniversary this year!
Have u the aftermath
Victoria Clarke as Ethel Beane stole every scene she was in!!! The talent of the cast was amazing and to see this live was magnificent. Each actor created a full characterization and as an audience member you felt for each and every one of them. Effect, powerful, moving theatre! I hope the original cast know how valued and loved they were!
cliff9685 I agree. Her Alice Beane was amazing. One of my favorite tracks.
This is fucking retarded, how can anyone enjoy this type of nonsensical gibberish...
How much of the press reel footage do you have in your possession? Besides, this, 'What a Remarkable Age/Lady's Maid' and the Launching Sequence, I mean. This is great!
i saw it tice in NYC and then it closed...i'm glad i was able to see it , it was amazing !! even better than RENT, which was the reason i went to NYC
Thanks for the info on B'way run. I may just use it as an excuse to return to NYC for a visit. I'll do some research so I can see when tix are avail. Thx again!
Why shdn't this story be told in a beautiful musical? All the characters & events are based on true history. Tho it's hard to tell from this (short clip w. terrible sound), the score is wonderful, magnificent at times, heartbreaking at times too. Many plays, operas & musicals are based on history, tragic & otherwise, many of them cathartic. And, yes, I agree "9/11 On Ice" is a terrible idea. But some of the songs & shows that deal w. it are lovely (Lisa Brescia "I'll Be There," ORDINARY DAYS).
I was in this production as a child and it was a great memory we opened for the titanic museum and it's an amazing score and show altogether and it's difficult not to cry every time I hear the music
Sevon Askew were you in the original Broadway cast?
I saw this show in New York in tenth grade on my high school choir's annual trip. It was, BY FAR, the worst experience of my life. TERRIBLE! thank you for reading
Kerry Kramer sucks for you but this musical is still amazing
Padraig Pantoja I’ve grown up a bit in 6 years and don’t post like that anymore. I maintain that, as a high schooler, the show was boring for me at the time. If I gave it another chance, maybe I’d change my mind about it.
Kerry Kramer good to hear!
It's "Lady's Maid".
Yes!
That is the great actor/singer/pianist/conductor/musical director/director Ted Sperling!
Don't forget Tony and Drama Desk Award winning co-orchestrator(with Bruce Coughlin and composer Adam Guettel) of The Light in The Piazza in 2005!
@@michaelwilliamybarra2409 yes, and ALSO starring Victoria Clark! (Alice Beane here, and Margaret Johnson in Light, lol) they work very well together! Even MORE of course her LATEST role the Tony Winning "Kimberly Akimbo" but yeah this was one of her earlier Broadway roles
I love Victoria Clark as "busybody" Alice Beane!
Do you have any press reels of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown or seussical? Curious.
I have just been part of 'Titanic the Musical' in Halifax and we performed on the 100th anniversary and did a special 11.40pm performance (exactly 100 years since the ship collided with the iceberg) and finished at 2.20am (exactly 100 years since the ship slipped beneath the surface) and I can honestly say I have never been in a show where the audience cheers at the set being revealed and I doubt I ever will again
Victoria Clark is LIIIIVVVVIIINNGG when she sings!! forever my love... <3
where did you get the DVD? my aunt looved the broadway show and i think she would loove it for a gift.
We are doing this show at the Historic Cocoa Village play house and we open on the 100th anniversary.
wait so this isn't based on the movie?
No, considering it opened in New York 7 months before the movie was released. It focuses on the real people rather than a fictional love story (although there are certainly romantic moments in the show).
I remember when this came out, I got my copy in 1998. It was amazing then, and still is!
Is that Emmerdale's Moira?
Chewcobo yeah. It is. 😃
Whoever they have playing Mr. Hartley in this is rather charming.
omg! i just found the gayest vid on youtube....
What is wrong with you???
this is awful everything was bad ,the actors, the music, the acting all was of it was bad
That was so cool. I have always wanted to see this show and I guess I would take clips over nothing at all.
@Funstuff13613 --- LOL! The thing about Maury's musical of TITANIC is that it's more about people striving for something beyond their ability to quite do yet than about the tragedy itself. The very opening of the show has the designer of the boat talking about how in every age, mankind tries to do something that seems impossible, such as the pyramids, the aqueducts of Rome, etc. Then this same ambitious sentiment comes back at the end of the show, with the ghosts of passengers joining in.
@NYCBASS01 -- The personnel are listed in the CD insert!
@PJGProductons yep - the original cast was very small, and pretty much EVERYONE doubled (at LEAST doubled) parts.
@davesbigplay YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW PERFECT THAT SOUNDS!! I think you should start a facebook group or something
Actually, Kate McGowen in the musical is probably based off the life of Kate Gilnagh, who did infact know Murphy, Mullins and Farrel, and did survive the sinking (and the four of them actually expirienced the "staircase" number (though probs not through music. and all three women lived in real life! The real Kate McGowen 42, not pregnant, and escorting her niece home - they both died
When is the September 11th Musical coming out?
ironic with come from away existing now. how times change
Come From Away opened in 2017 and it is incredible
ohhh those are some terrible irish accents.
@robbertstoop What do you mean???
AH! I'm so happy. I'm Kate Mullins in my schools' production of it :)
Actually, in the show only McGowan survives. Kate Murphy and Kate Mullins both die - though in real life they survived.
Ok...the three kates are not sisters...watch the opening, they introduce themseleves to each other. And when I was in this for a high school production, in the research i did I found nothing that said anything about the Kates being sistesr in real life or the show.
Where did you get these?
HI - I just adore this song and feel like crying when I hear it - I've never seen it the musical but I know the song from the internet. DO the three kates survive the sinking and get to America or do they sink? I really wanna know as I have no chance of seeing the musical :)
I know this is comment is 10-years-old, but in case you or anyone would still want to see the musical in full, some hero on TH-cam has been posting this recording of the whole thing! drive.google.com/file/d/0B8nh10_fGb02YWdydHZiOXI1REk/view?usp=drivesdk
@@srriari wow! Thank you so much!
@@hermione1382 You're very welcome!
i life in Holland and i do a musical class and one of the songs is this one.. but then in Dutch.. there is it Called "Nieuwe (New) Ragtime.. its a funny song :P
After all the versions of this show I've seen, the OBC remains my absolute favourite. Everyone here is perfectly cast and AMAZIN. Thank you so much for posting!
Holy crap. Go Victoria Clark! Wow.
