Interesting! I did wonder whether these (Wonderswan and GB) were even worth trying, but seems they’re actually fairly impressive for what they’re worth!
Taito really tried with this one. Getting early with a launch title was a good move by them. This version does pip the Game Boy (spoilers for a later video.)
I never realised that DDG EX was this bad haha, I always saw it for sale and thought “oh, it must be an improved version” which is seemingly what they wanted to make, but man, this failed hard
It's very rough. They really tried to outdo the PS version, and, like you say, they failed. :D
@@pressstarttogame6525 Makes me wonder what they thought when they did testing with those texture issues and framerate issues etc. Did they just go “yep, that’s good, ship it” or was it more of a “we’re so late to this, just ship it and hope for the best” haha

Great tutorial! I went to Japan last month, tried the in-arcade sim and have been hooked since. I'm looking at any way to play Densha de Go at home in the UK now. 🤣

So far I’ve only played the PS2 version upscaled to 1080P on PCSX2 and it’s one of my favorites. I always wanted to try to run the Wii version on Dolphin, but I could never ever get it to run without it running at about 1 FPS and I couldn’t find a single thing online on how to emulate it. The draw distance and the new rollings stock over the PS2 version makes me want to try this version but I still haven’t. Once this released i got excited but after seeing those frame drops I’ve been instantly turned off. I guess I’ll never play this version…
Thanks for your comment! It is a shame how the game runs to be sure, but it is still pretty fun. I've been hoping that a patch would be released, which they did for the original Densha de GO! Plug and Play, but nothing so far. Keep trying with Dolphin, though. The Wii version is pretty amazing. I'll try to get it running in emulation and make a video about the process if I find anything.

@@pressstarttogame6525 Yeah they are greedy, litigous so and sos. Why are there never any sales? Why are 5 year old games still 50 quid. Why do I need to replace my drifting Switch joypad every year. Why dont they support communities/fans/tournaments? Why is their multiplayer experience stuck in the 1990s? We know the answer to all those questions.... Considering a steam deck once they hit second gen.
I'll stick with my original 1993 Doom. Engine in the public domain, all you need is the original WAD's. Mind you some of the free ware ones aren't bad either.

Best game ever recommendation? Pocket Card Jockey by Game Freak. Hardly anyone knows about this game, but its nuanced, addictive, pokes fun at itself and is utterly superb. Made by the Pokemon team and it should be just as famous, but its not because we are living in a material world and I am a material girl, or boy. Available only on 2DS/3DS I think!

It wasn't God that made it snow in Amends, popular theory is that it was the Powers That Be, who appear in Angel, but it's never explicitly revealed. You could argue the Powers That Be and God are basically the same thing. Spike turned good as he fell in love with Buffy.

Liking the more scripted approach to the vids Disagree about the Witcher, the combat pissed me off too to begin with but once it clicked that it wasn't trying to emulate batman/ass creed, I readjusted and quite like it now, I'd even go so far as to say its quite precise once you get a feel for it
+rwexbc Witcher's combat is no where near as bad as Assassin's Creed. If I hadn't played Bloodborne, I wouldn't have had a problem with it. Ah... Hotline Miami 2. Finished it and never went back. The level editor is out soon, so the community will make some amazing levels, I hope. Your GotY?

I played thru this one with a friend in one sitting. It was a bit simplistic but the style and environments really sold it....gotta admit we did skip through all the edutainment stuff though
Without watching the clips the game must have lasted about an hour! I really like the micro-documentaries and I wish more games did it. I'd also like more games to have developer commentaries too; hearing how Portal, Thomas Was Alone, et al were made is really interesting.
