You can keep it set to 120 all the time. if the game doesn't support it - it will automatically turn the HZ down for you. you wont even notice when it happens. this is all assuming your tv supports 120hz in the first place.

@hashirhamid1 because some monitors report the incorrect mode to your console, so that is what your console defaults too.

@jacobavina-m9b use a lower bit per pixel. Otherwise I doubt that is the case.
