Although it not quite the same this scene reminds me sooo much of my own life. I never saw my father again after I turned 4 (he was very abusive). Ironically it was my mom's first husband (my older sister's father). Who actually stepped in and treated and still me like a son to this day. And Coach Fanelli reminds of my old football coaches from High School and Junior College. Those two taught me so much about life and did so much good that I would never be able to repay them. Every needs a Father like Patrick was to Josh, and Josh's bio father seemingly set a great foundation in life for him. But also every kid could use an example like Coach Fanelli even if they're something other than just Coach. Could be a Coach, could be a teacher or even a friend.

This was a powerful scene and advice. My Mom had my 3 brothers from her first marriage, before she divorced their Dad. A few years later she met my Dad and married him and had me. Growing up my brothers didn't like my Dad, they thought for a long time that my Dad was trying to replace their father. Eventually as we all got older, they finally had put their differences aside and have enjoyed hanging out with my Dad when they can. They still see their own biological Dad too!
