Hi , owner of the bike here , the rack is a generic HTTMT brand , supposedly for HD , part number mt-238cd . The rear mount took a short chrome bar salvaged from another project to fit the original seat bolt and the front flat mount I worked carefully with a hammer to conform to the fender radius , hiding the mount and bolts under the seat .
Thanks for your review. Like many other riders who chose the 390 it is primarily about weight and versatility for me. I am in my early 60s and am developing my off road riding skills. Previously, I rode a CB500X which was good but the 390 is lighter and better off road. My bike has some vibration through the bars so any suggestions about resolving this issue would be welcomed. It's summer 🏝️ in Australia and over 105 °F and so a little hot for riding just now 😂!
Very happy to hear you are still riding into your 60's , i'm getting close to 60 myself. I never really had much bar vibration with my 390 the factory bars do have vibe isolators in the bar ends you may want to look for an aftermarket option that will upgrade them. I did also add bar risers very shortly after buying mine which may have also helped . Best of luck and safe riding friend.
Great video! Love your content btw. Have a 2024 390 adv and love it to death. Questions about the trailmax raid tires. I can’t find the stock size for the front tire for sale anywhere. Where did you find it? Or did you use an alternate size?
My KTM dealer found them so i'm not sure of the source but it did take them a couple days to find. My front tire is a 110-80-r19 and the rear is a 130-80-17 , The front is a bit different but it doesn't negatively affect the handling and there are no clearance issues. This combination has worked amazing for me. Hope this helps , safe riding friend.

I agree about the nuts and bolts, I tried to exchange the brake pedal but both small Allen’s rounded so now I need to drill them out and rethread them, as you say you think twice and three times before you attempt to disassemble anything
I'm still not sure why they use so much lock tight? for a single this bike doesn't vibe very much? BTW when i reassemble i do not apply fresh lock tight 😁
The service manual says if you take of the swing arm bolt, which you didn’t need to do if you would have loosened the manifold bolts so you could move the whole exhaust, anyways the KTM repair manual says to actually raise the weight off of the swing arm and engine with a jack mostly like to take the weight of the motorcycle off of that bolt that you stripped.

I got a 390 adventure for my wife and i cant stop riding it, love that thing. I honestly dont know what people are doing to require liter bikes for adv riding. The 390 has plenty of power to get you through any situation you could encounter on or off road.

130-80-17 , It was a little difficult to get them . My Local KTM dealer had to order them. I'm very satisfied with them.
Just pulled the battery out of mt 390 ADV and brought it inside to stay warm and charged. I hope this winter is short one and springs comes early. Hope you and your family had a pleasant Thanksgiving holiday.

@@glennmcguire5571 Dunlop Trailmax Raid . Fantastic tires in all conditions I can’t recommend them highly enough. Here where I live they were expensive but have proven themselves to be worth every penny 👍👍👍

Was out on mine on Friday here in Scotland , just over freezing. Other than I couldn't see for my eyes watering, no biggie. Heated grips for the win, neck tube and wheee, away we go. Its wet tractor mud is the worst here this time of year, as well as the slippy salt deicer stuff on the roads. Hope you folks over the water had a great Thanksgiving.

When i was younger I could ride my Ducati 900 ss sp for thousand mile trips pretty easy , at my age now i could barely ride this Panigale for 30 minutes .🤣😂🤣🤣

Couldn't find a guide on how to do this on a duke200, so I'm here. I did the same thing and visibly noticed the lever going higher if i twist in one direction, but could barely notice the lever going down if i twisted the other way. Also how to adjust the lever free play?
hmm , the raising and lowering of the lever should be easily visible ? There really is no free play adjustment on foot lever controls like there is on a cable actuated clutch , the transmission detent will self locate the shifter and the brake is hydraulic so its either engaged or not.

Thanks for your videos. You're reviews of this bike partially influenced me to purchase the KTM 390 Adventure instead of something else (price also played a big part). I was contemplating the BMW 310 and a couple others, but finally decided on the KTM. I have owned it now for one year and absolutely love riding it. I live in central Florida and sadly there are not a lot of places to ride offroad, so the Ocala National Forest is the best option for me which is extremely sandy. I still have the stock tires and surprisingly they are not all that bad. They hook up very well on the road and when we hit the forest, I usually leave my friends behind and have to wait for them at the end of the trail. They ride bigger adventure bikes so they struggle in the tight sandy areas. On the highway the 390 struggles a bit, especially when its windy, but on the back roads where it's tight and twisty, I'm "usually" the one leading the way. 😄 Thanks again, and keep up the good videos!
Thank you for the kind words. I think i got around 5k miles on the stock tires and they pretty good on most surfaces and with the traction control they worked pretty well on wet clay which is usually unbearable. Enjoy your bike . I ride mine every chance i get.
Not nearly enough power on the open road, its only a single. The 14 tooth sprocket and quality chain was the first thing i did.
yeah its a bit anemic on long hiway running, the FuelX controller with exhaust upgrade makes a huge difference and really opens up the top end . It wont win many drag races but it will carry itself pretty effortlessly.
I did the same mod , but used the Shift-Tech resonator replacement pipe…not that cheap ass Chinese shit you put on yours…and I only had to loosen the bottom foot peg bolt to get the long resonator bolt to clear…never touched the swingarm bolt. BECAUSE it’s easy to OVERTIGHTEN and STRIP….YOU fukked up, NOT KTM….I’ve stripped out ONE bolt in 50 years of wrenching…never again….which tells me you don’t know SHIT from Shiola about working on ANYTHING…..I just watch your shitty videos to see HOW BAD you’ll fuk up NEXT…..😂😂

yes they do have tubes , i install heavy duty tubes and have been pretty happy with them.
to me 250 is the perfect volume for lone riders who are not too heavy. I have an XTZ 250 Lander. Only sold in Brazil, search for it, you'll see it's an awesome trail style bike.
I agree ,250 is a good solo size, light weight ,super easy to handle, very fun on the back roads.
How long has he had this air filter on? Any tuning needed afterwards? I have the 2009 model myself.
He did this mod shortly after buying the bike ,about nine months ago, he's ridden it about 250 miles . The only tuning has been a small adjustment of the air/fuel screw.

@@fransoi28 The basic fuelX control will give you a substantial power boost if you change nothing else but adding a less restrictive exhaust with it will yield great ride ability. This bike is actually very good when it’s not choked .
Get a Quadlock for the phone mount. You won't regret it! I used RAM mount X-grip and wish I'd gone straight to the Quadlock instead. I use them on all my bikes and the car.

What do you mean annoyance? I was doing adventure training today and the stalling bucked me off the bike twice!. Broke my mirror and hand guard because of the stalls. Its actually dangerous! My coach kept telling me to give more revs. Great beginner bike and great for getting into adventure riding but this kind of malfunction can take the fun out of it fast. The MTC reset is also annoying but not quite as bad as this.
Sorry to hear that :( I called it an annoyance mostly because my experience wasn't as bad as yours " hopefully you are uninjured" mine would constantly stall and re light in motion " power on power gone " . I agree it is actually dangerous . After the kickstand bypass I've had zero issues with rough terrain stalling. I don't think KTM thought buyers like us would put the bike through its paces on rough off road riding. Don't give up on it just yet after you work these bugs out it is a very competent bike in most environments. :)

In that time a chain change, some electric problem during heavy rain (horn stopped working) and that’s about it. Yes, sometimes I’m wanting a little more uphill grunt, yet off-road there’s all the power the the ground you need and (especially important) I can lift it by myself.

@@thebelligerentmechanic8916 thank you I keep flipping back and forth which bike I want more. I thought the KTM would handle freeway better. I come from all sport bikes with zero offroad training but want to learn and want a reliable bike for both leaning toward KLR but its super slow from what I've seen. Hard to argue with the reliability however
@@jesseoddstad7415 it handles freeway decently but it is so light it gets blown around a bit, I’ve done 7k plus on my 23 , probably 6k hiway. So it works fine but the klr being heavier tends be a smoother hiway ride 👍
