Very good video, thanks! For me, I decided to pay that exorbitant $8.50 Airtrain fare to go from/to Jamaica Station because Google maps stated the Q10 option was always 25-30+ minutes slower. Time = money, and the tradeoff in time wasn't worth it for me to save that $8.50. After the last stop around JFK, the Airtrain runs directly to Jamaica Station at astonishing speed. Shame it's so expensive and we can't get an Airtrain route going to LGA or EWR. In any case, the OMNY fiasco means that Airtrain has been effectively free for a few months (not sure PANY/NJ has fixed it yet).

I like that someone showed how to avoid some of the higher cost ways to get to the city center. I wish they told us how long this alternative method took. Some of those outer boroughs are not as regular as the trains that traverse up and down Broadway all day.

I'm glad you survived. Many have died trying to make this journey. They should build a memorial to the many dead of the train ride to Terminal B.

What about while to LGA: 1. Take Metro-North to Harlem-125 Street and take the M60 SBS to Laguardia Airport. 2. Take the Metro-North to Grand Central and take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) or 7 train from Grand Central to Woodside and/or take the 7 train from Grand Central to 74 Street - Broadway and take the Q70 SBS Laguardia Link to Laguardia Airport.

Basically its a decent ride. The real problem is that the people at top who manage the railroad don't use it. They drive their own cars or take company limo.

LIRR also goes to Grand Central Madison which is on the MTA Metro North New Haven Line, there is a ferry that connects bridgeport and port jefferson as well as New London, CT which is on the Shore Line East to Orient Point, which is where you have to take a bus to the LIRR either Montauk or Ronkonkoma branch The Red Line also goes to Porter Square where you can take the commuter rail to North Station and the orange line to Back Bay, the providence commute rail also stops at Route 128 and Providence

The better transfer would be the Blue Line to Government Center, then upstairs to any Green Line westbound train to Park Street, then downstairs to the Red Line southbound (Ashmont or Braintree) to South Station. That long walk between lines at State Street would only make sense if the Amtrak or commuter train you wanted to catch at South Station also stops at Back Bay Station, which is on the Orange Line.

They all go to different locations and have different train numbers. I'm not sure what the confusion is but then I live here.

That's a lot of work to save a couple of bucks. Take the AirTrain and avoid all that hassle. You're still saving a $60/70/90 Uber/taxi.

You could've like get off the metro north at Grand Central, then took the 4 or 5 train to fulton street, and took the path train from WTC to newark and took the airtrain and took the bus lines to the airport terminals.

Imagine doing this after an 8 hour flight, with a suitcase and backpack.

You can also pay by tapping your phone at the subway turnstile. Alos you can take the LIRR train from either Penn Station or Grand Central to Jamaica station, then taking the air trsin.
