Any idea for bmw e46 ??
I can’t find it. 2010 316 saloon
I have a 2009 316d saloon, from the inside looks like a semi circular plastic plate that has 3 vitical slats, to the right of the spring loaded plastic pin as you look through the removed handle. There is a cable connected to the handle mech and the other for me is a grey and yellow that splits from the handle and goes behind the plate which can be unclamped, they're like hooks. Dislodging the hooks I guess should give leverage to pull tha t wire to the left to expose the rubber cable, i'm scared of snapping those wires, as then I eliminate a jump start to power the electrics and use my fob. I'll let you know how I got on 👍👍
My 06 e91 320i touring wagon has nothing. Looks nothing compared to any vids iv seen lol fk idk tho 😊
you can pop the bonnet and you have positive and negative terminal at the front. fit jumper cable to another car or a charged battery and you should be able to unlock and lock.
There is a video on You Tube where a guy pulls the harness under passenger footwell, locates a gray wire and opens the trunk that had no battery and trunk actuator would not work. It happened to me, the body shop had twisted the actuator wires several turns and it would't unlock. Dead battery was out, key port did not budge at all. I used the new battery with a ground wire to seat and power to gray wire. Opened right up and i Installed new battery, removed actuator and fixed after removing and untwisting cables.
Worked for me on my ‘07 328i 👌🏽 I thought it wouldn’t work because my car is a convertible and the trunk hatch is electric but it did the trick
Does anyone know if a e90 2010 has this cable? I can't seem to find it.
Pretty much the same, 2009 316d see the white plastic spring pin, but all I can see is a metal plate and no cavity for a cable to the right...not even sure how far across it is and I've had several looks with a torch
@Godsadvoc8 did you figure this out? I have the same problem and a recovery guy said that somebody may have attempted this before which is why we can't find it 🤷
@dubbachunk220 had to get a mechanic to open it. Not sure how they managed it but took them 2hrs to get it open. This model doesn't have the emergency release cable
@@flyingeagle5061 I managed to get the back seats slightly out and got in that way. Such a ball ache dude! 🤦
@dubbachunk220 nice one, might be worth putting an emergency release cable on the space in the latch so if it happens again it's easier to open
this video saved me, my key doesn’t work and i took the battery out to get it tested, so obviously i closed the trunk and then i realized what i had done. I have a 2007 328i and i thought mine didn’t have the cord at first but it’s hard to spot. The cord goes horizontally across the hole so once you get it hooked you’re gonna have to pull the cord through, i just pulled really hard and it came out and my trunk opened up.
I hope this works tomorrow
Look in the cubby hole. There is a boot lock switch on the right. It's pretty small. That might do it . I eventually found it after pulling my hair out and having multiple specialists including a BMW dealership look at it. BMW wanted to charge me R1400 just to diagnose it.
Is it easy to locate? Why is your clothes hanger so long
Thanks

Thanks you bro
Hi, just to say this worked for me tonight, so many many thanks and saved me a lot of money as well.
Thank you very much! This saved me a lot of money and time. God bless you!
Worked!
If the battery is still in the car (even dead), you can use another car to open the trunk by attaching jumper cables under the hood. Used my truck to get the trunk open even though the battery was not giving enough power to even light up the dash. Will not work though if the battery is removed from the car.
Open ur bonnet and and jump to ur car from front then start ur car off again then ur boot is open with remote
Bro you just saved my 500$ damn dollars! Thank you!!
Worked for me 318i 2009. Thanks for sharing 🤩👍
Bro how hard did you have to pull!! Im going for it tomorrow, thanks
Does this work on bmw e60 2004 530i?
Perfect! Worked for me. The only thing I had to do was turn the key at the same time. 2006 5 Series.
😂😂😂 u can just open it with your key
No key hole and dead battery
U made me break it, now my car won't work, thanks
I think same here bro 🤦♂️ did you ever find a solution??
You chose to try it. You broke it yourself at your own risk. Have a good day
Hi sir... I have the same problem with LCi 90. The boot lid just get stuck after i closed it abruptly while it is raining outside. But then when am about to open it... It won't badge... The battery is still operational though... But after you've open it; do you to change the electronic locking mechanism of the lid? Thanks
my bmw 320 2010 not have it😢
Mine as well 🤦
Thanks pal my trunk is stuck!!!
So in the front in the passage area inside the car , you remove that part and there are cables that open the trunk. Why this information was not online ???? That is what the expert from BMW did and the trunk opened even when there was no battery and the trunk was locked in this 328i 2010 bmw. I wish someone would have mention this method .
Great information can you pls tell more about it like which part and where it is located, any pictures would be helpful to everyone
@silvanafriedel3957. Can u explain it a little more please 🙏🏼?
di bmw e90 saya tidak ada pengait itu
Hi ,thanks for the video. I have same issue now, i tried pulling the cable, still itdidnt open the boot. What to do? Any advice.
Will this work if the central locking is locked though? My battery is flat and the doors are locked. When you unlock the drivers door, the rest of the car stays locked. Also, my bonnet cable snapped to I can’t put power to the terminals under the bonnet either.
Did you figure it out? I have the same issue 😢
@@carcrazyguysa4059 I removed the boot handle (which snapped into 3 bits so don’t do it!) and there was nothing to pull to open the boot. I managed to get the bonnet open and put a jump pack on the terminals which let me open the boot.
Thanks! Saved my groceries. Now it looks like I need a new battery.
Glad I could help
After u pulled the wire and the trunk open did it mess up the truck when u try opening it or it don’t mess it up ??
I have an e90 330i 2011 and it doesn’t have this release latch.
same what do i do
Did you manage to get in to your boot? I took my seats out but still can't do it
Useless this video
I did all that my battery is dead i pull on the exact right thing really hard its not working
Im pulling on it and it doesn't work
This is perfect, worked got it open
Which year/model was your car?

Can anyone help me.. Need some advice. Boot locked, won't open, lock sound when pressed, can't gain access from back seat as the release buttons are on back in the boot. How do get into the boot to open boot.. Bmw 218d m sport 2015?
I'm in the same boat with my BMW 3 series F30 2014. If I were to apply 12v to the trunk relay of BMW 3 series F30 (2014), would it open the boot? Or would the actuator also need a separate 12v to it? I can access trunk release relay cables by unclipping it from its housing by the number plate which then exposes the two wires going into it -positive (grey and yellow) and negative(brown). I'm currently unable to access the boot because the battery is dead. Jump starting via battery terminals in the engine compartment hasn't worked either.
@@piscean81 I had to drop the back seats by going from inside with two metal rods I got and prized apart seat in the cap. Then pushed the seat release latch to drop the seat. Then I took the panel off to expose the lock and release lock switch to open it.
@@piscean81 sorry I couldn't be of any more help bud.
@@freedom14639 Thanks for your reply. Were you able to undo the back seat whilst the passenger doors were locked? My passenger doors are locked shut.
@@piscean81 no bro nerd to get in car
Does it work on a E93 convertible
Did it work
Doesnt work on e91 2005, just tried :/
Same
What about e92 ?
Thank you, good useful vid that went straight to the problem. My car had the same brown wire cut apart
What happened to your car? I might have to do this. Just keep pulling you say. Hopefully it works on my e90.
@@jordanosborne5603 Wire got cut resulting loss of power to the boot door :)
