Loved it Jack ,,,had me smiling and tapping my foot with glee ,,,loved the punchy drums,,,,please don't fade it out though ,,,cause,,,,,,nothing's better than a bloody good ending ,,,wish I had your skill and ability to do this amazing work ..
Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry, my mediocre skills only extend to mimicking and I can't create a good ending if there wasn't one on the original record. th-cam.com/video/Op5D59Wx500/w-d-xo.html
Really lovely Jack,,,,perfect
Thanks for listening
🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
One Rick Wakemans earliest contributions on piano . I think he was still a teenager,
Thanks for listening. Rick Wakeman was a youngster (two months shy of 22) when he contributed the piano to the Cat Stevens' record. That was right before he recorded the brilliant piano part on David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?” Rick was just 20 when he contributed the Mellotron to Bowie’s “Space Oddity.”
Great vibe great song
Thanks for listening. I’d always been moved by the music but I finally paid attention to Eleanor Farjeon’s lyrics. Lovely piano interjections from Rick Wakeman on the Stevens’ record.
This is like a whole other song inside the song.
Ta. I'm not exactly sure what that means. Perhaps there are seven levels? ;-) th-cam.com/video/49b2hQuRQpU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uI_831mBbn-ClZ5L&t=101
These are so fantastic.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
You must have spent days and days or weeks to get this together Jack, Its perfect, ,,,,trouble is it makes me so sad thinking about them,,,,,but well done to you ,,,you've captured all the essence, all the memories..
Hi, Robert: I originally posted a cover of this song four years ago. This is just a quick one or two-hour remix employing some of the tricks I've hopefully picked up along the way. Thanks for checking it out and I hope the song brings good memories for you as it does for me.
!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! 🎸
FANTASTIC
Thanks again. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
MELODY SOUNDTRACK
Simple lovely song with a profound message.
WOW!!!
Thank you for listening.
Hey Jack, I noticed you do a very lot of these backing tracks which I am grateful for because I practice to them all the time. I’m just wondering if you could make a backing track for Vern Gosdin‘s version of this?????
Hi, Jamie: Thanks for the support and the suggestion. Honestly I have at least four dozen other songs in the queue right now and I am often hired to create others (I'm afraid paid work has to take precedence) so it might be couple of years. If you care to share an email address, I can send a karaoke version with the vocals removed by stem separation software straight away.
Awesome 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
Hi Jack...Interestingly prepared BT, rich sound: I listened with pleasure to your interpretation of this song🎸🎹🎶🎧👌. Artistic respect, my friend...👏👏👍
Many thanks and glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing Song ❤❤❤❤❤
Burt Bacharach and Hal David rule!
Va muy bien.!!❤❤❤❤❤
Gracia!
Great Pop Song🎉🎉🎉🎉
Indeed! Thanks for listening.
wrong key
@RyeRyeShnatBat: Thanks for listening. Can you please clarify what “wrong key” means? This cover is based upon this 1970 live version by Eric Burdon and War which sounds in C and you can see both Howard Scott and B.B. Dickerson are playing their respective instruments in C. th-cam.com/video/4-Xs7NK-7B8/w-d-xo.html The studio release sounds somewhere in the crack between C and Db and, since it features fixed-pitch instruments (e.g. organ), I suspect tape speed manipulation modulated the pitch of the master slightly sharp.

Thanks! Your comment looks like a New Year's celebration.
Do you have sheet music with this?
I'm sorry, no, I don't have a license to publish sheet music for this copyrighted work. The sheet music is legally available for download on many sites including MusicNotes.com. www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0097925
Thank you for doing this!!
You're welcome! Thank you for listening.
Comin' to me in the mornin' Leavin' me at night Comin' to me in the mornin' Leavin' me alone You've got that rainbow feel But the rainbow has a beard Runnin' to me a-cryin' When he throws you out Runnin' to me a-cryin' On your own again You've got that pure feel Such good responses But the picture has a mustache You're comin' to me with that soulful look on your face You're comin' lookin' like You never ever done one wrong thing You're comin' to me with that soulful look on your face You're comin' lookin' like You never ever done one wrong thing So many fantastic colors I feel in a wonderland Many fantastic colors Makes me feel so good You've got that pure feel Such good responses Got that rainbow feel But the rainbow has a beard
Far out, man!
Why are some in G# and some in G? It seems to be in G with a little vari-speed on the master.
@ericbauer9607: I can't say but every live performance by EWF I've heard seems to be in G (although Ab is probably a better horn key). I bet you're right about the master tape being sped up to raise the pitch.
Are all these up for grabs to record vocals?
@TheLurker_666: Thanks for listening. I don't control the rights so I'm fine with you downloading for your personal use.
You legend!
Legend of a mind? ;-) Thanks again for listening.
Hi awesome work!!! I would like to purchase this backing track with harmony and melody (music sheet) for saxophone. Is there away I can have a downloaded file with audio? If it's possible to purchase to you? Keep up with the amazing work
Hi, Gustavo: Thank you very much. I'm glad you like the track. Since I do not have a license for this copyrighted song, I can't sell the audio to you. However, there are many free applications that permit users to download audio from TH-cam. Lately, I have been using a paid app called VideoDuke that seems to work well. ¡Muchas gracias!
Love this song! This was my first song of my first show (as a keyboardist) when I switched from Classical to Rock. Bought a couple of keyboards since then, and scored and performed 90 Steely Dan songs recently. Every time I ventured into a new genre it was so frightening and uncomfortable, but so worth it at the end! Thrilling!
Thanks for listening. Great story. Coincidentally, this is the song my first band on which we discovered we could sing harmony vocals. Why not share your Steely Dan covers? I had no idea their catalog was as extensive as 90 songs.
@ even more than 90! I had to move due to partner’s job, so I miss a wonderful capable 12-piece band. But great idea, I might start a channel doing all the parts. Donald said in one interview they don’t mind people covering their songs! Re “Your Mama don’t dance” : that first show I realized a keyboardist should multitask and also sing backing vocals :)
Music to my Ears. And Easy on the Eyes!😉
Thank you for listening (and watching)!
Great Jack
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
Great channel, best backling tracks I've heard.
Wow, thanks! I appreciate the compliment.
I was 12 years old, when this song came out. I thought it was the coolest song! It still is!
Thanks. I was near the same age and the original record did sound great over the AM radio.
Very good! I liked it a lot! 🎶 👍
Many thanks!!
Can anyone tell me what key this is in
E flat minor (or Eb Dorian to be more precise).
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
After watching the how it was done video, I had to check out the final product. Great job.
Thank you but this may not be the ‘final product.’ After listening to this cover for the first time in a couple of years, I definitely want to try a remix applying what I’ve learned in the interim. Thanks again for listening.
Very entertaining and informative. Thank you .
As George Harrison sang, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” Since I haven’t had any formal training in this, I’m sure there are much more efficient ways to record and the path I’ve settled on probably isn’t best for most people.
@@jackinvoxbut you do it very well. The video in itself was entertaining. I have a question for you at the beat gear cavern. I hope you see it.
Very nice Jack !!!
Thank you so much. That means a lot.
This is so good Jack
Thanks! I'm glad you like it.
Nice feel to this ,great jack
Thanks for listening. IMO, the Beatles were an under-rated R&B band and the addition of Billy Preston took this record to another level.
Nice one Jack ,very nice !
Glad you enjoyed it
What is the key of this version?
This cover is in Bb major.
@@jackinvox thank you for the fast response.
I am a (karaoke) busker in Taiwan. Always looking out for nice tunes, Wild Horses came to mind yesterday, and started looking for the music for it, so happy that I found you. Wonderful. Thank you! 🥰 I will mention your channel when I upload my singing.
Thank you for listening and considering my homemade backing track cover worthy.
aces!!
Goo goo goo joob! Thanks!
Fab!
Four! I'm glad you liked it.
Nice Jack
Thank you, Robert.
Nice work Jack
Much appreciated. Cheers!
Bloody great Jack
Much appreciated. Cheers!
The best backing track I could find!
Thank you for listening (and commenting)!
Really nice feel Jack, loved the forward drums, pity about the lack luster fade out
Thanks, Robert. RE the fade out, who am I to question the genius of producer Stevland Morris? As I've replied twice on other videos, share an email address and I'll send you an MP3 with an ending.
