I am a landscape photographer based in London with nature and conservation as the core focus of my work. This channel is dedicated to hiking videos filmed across the UK and internationally. I firmly believe in the "leave no trace" conduct and I would appreciate if anyone who is inspired by my videos to spend time in nature would adhere to it as well. Thank you!

Hiking in the North York Moors National Park | Dehancer Review

In August I visited the North York Moors National Park for my Treasure project. I took the train from London to Scarborough. I made my way through wheat fields and forests towards Blakey Topping. My train was late that morning which made me lose my connection and I arrived an hour late in Yorkshire. I was trying to get to the Hole of Horcum by sunset and I was running out of time. Hiking up the last hill was excruciating after 30 kilometres but I was rewarded with reaching the Hole just as the sky was turning orange and blue.
I camped there only to awake the next day to a field full of heather. Purple as far as the eye could see. A local told me that for years the heather had been destroyed by a pest and that she's not seen so much of it in a long time. She was hopeful that this year was the first of many to come. It was a very hot day and I had to refill my water bottles very early into the hike. I've had encounters with highland cows and passed by an RAF station. After passing Lilla Cross I pitched my tent and cooled off in the evening breeze.
The last day was marked by rain and wind. I hiked to Fylingdales, making my way through wet ferns where I lost the trail a couple of times. From there I decided to take the bus back to Scarborough, which gave me time to visit the port, ending my journey on the beautiful, calm beach.
Part of my Treasure project which aims to raise awareness and funds for the 10 defunded national parks in England. For more information please visit: www.andreistance.com/treasure

Hiking in The Broads National Park
มุมมอง 4.9Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Originally dug out for peat in medieval times, the landscape of the Norfolk Broads was flooded during the 14th Century. The waterways that were created have been the home of numerous wildlife species ever since, with more than a quarter of the rarest ones in the country residing here. My two days in The Broads National Park in July have been filled with wildlife encounters. From owls and bunnie...
Hiking in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs | Conic Hill
มุมมอง 2.8K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
On the 10th of October I went hiking for a day in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in Scotland. The destination was Conic Hill. 450 million years ago, Scotland was part of North America and together they formed the continent Laurentia. When it collided with Avalonia, Scotland and England formed a single land mass divided by fault lines. Conic Hill stands now on the most significa...
Hiking and Fishing in Lofoten
มุมมอง 17K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I remember the exact moment I first saw a photograph of Lofoten. Nothing I had seen before even came close and I found it hard to believe that it was a real place. Having seen it in hundreds of photographs throughout the years had not prepared me for the beauty that nature etched into this land. Green mountains rising from the depths of the Norwegian sea carry the stories of the last 2 billion ...
Hiking in Dartmoor National Park | Great Links Tor | Black-a-tor Copse
มุมมอง 2.9K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Dartmoor National Park has always been in the back of my mind. Whenever anyone mentioned hiking, it would always find its way into the conversation. This April I got the chance to finally see it with my own eyes. Once I left the train station in Okehampton I went southeast towards the Nine Maidens Stone Circle, a burial chamber from the Bronze Age. Legends say that there were once nine maidens ...
Hiking in Romania II | Ceahlău Massif | Mud Volcanoes | Lake Saint Anne | Postăvarul | Carpathians
มุมมอง 10K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
In February I went to Romania to hike the Ceahlău Massif with my parents, in preparation for an upcoming trip to Lofoten, Norway. On our way we visited the Mud Volcanoes in Buzău. Much rarer than their lava counterparts, they form when gas from the Earth’s continental crust, some 3 kilometres deep, emerges through layers of salt, clay and water. The gasses that are trapped in the depths of the ...
Hiking in the Lake District National Park | Ullswater | Place Fell | Helvellyn | Catstycam
มุมมอง 5Kปีที่แล้ว
This October I went hiking in the Lake District National Park with my friend, Bella. We started our first day in Penrith. It was cloudy, but quite dry. We walked to Ullswater, had a snack on the bank and then hiked past Arthur's Pike towards Howtown. The blue hour turned the lake into a beautiful sapphire. It got dark quickly and it started to rain. Relying on our torches we hiked half an hour ...
Hiking & Fishing in Sardinia | Tavolara | Isola dell'Ogliastra | Porto Flavia | Grotte Is Zuddas
มุมมอง 10Kปีที่แล้ว
In August I sailed with my friends for a week around the east coast of Sardinia, from Porto Cervo to Cagliari, stopping in different places along the way. Almost every morning at sunrise we went fishing in a small boat, or I went hiking, thus reducing my sleeping schedule to an average of a mere 4 hours per night. It was worth it though, for Sardinia is a remarkable place, where all manner of l...
Hiking in the South Downs National Park | Seven Sisters | Birling Gap | Beachy Head
มุมมอง 1.6Kปีที่แล้ว
In June I took the train to Seaford and set out to hike part of the South Downs National Park. I made my way to the Litlington White Horse, which was probably originally cut by James Pagden and William Ade in 1838 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Victoria. The next figure I encountered was the Long Man of Wilmington. It has been thought to originate in the neolithic period, or to represen...
Hiking in the Yorkshire Dales National Park | Scaleber Force | Gordale Scar | Pen-Y-Ghent
มุมมอง 3Kปีที่แล้ว
Hiking three days in the Yorkshire Dales National Parks was challenging. The first day started with a missed train. After finally reaching Settle I started my journey towards Scaleber Force. It hides in a beautiful woodland gorge, like an oasis that gives shelter from the scorching Yorkshire sun. Later that evening, after visiting Janet's Foss, I pitched my tent in the lovely camping site at Go...
Hiking in the New Forest National Park | Bluebells | Tall Trees Trail | Knightwood Oak
มุมมอง 1.6Kปีที่แล้ว
I started my 41 km two day journey in Ashurst and I went south through the Little Holmhill, Denny and Stubby Copse inclosures. Before Newlands Copse I turned north, crossed the Beaulieu Road, the Pignalhill and Ramnor inclosures making my way west through Hollands Wood towards the Rhinefield Road where I found two majestic sequoias towering above the canopy. I went all the way to the Queen of t...
Hiking in Romania | Carpathians | Făgăraș | Bâlea Lake | King's Rock | Bat's Cave | Bucegi | Sphinx
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
This December I spent 4 days with my family shooting the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. The first day started by driving on Transfăgărășan, a 90 km mountain road that links Wallachia to Transylvania. There were many frozen waterfalls along the way that were thawing in the sun. It ended with a beautiful sunset in the Făgăraș Mountains, near the Goat Waterfall. It was a very cold, humid afterno...
Hiking in South Africa | Table Mountain | Lion's Head | Robberg Nature Reserve | Fisherman's Walk
มุมมอง 2.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
During my two weeks long visit to South Africa I have hiked up Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge where I was fortunate enough to witness the Fire Lilies in bloom. Going up Lion's Head has rewarded me with stunning views of Table Mountain at sunset, while the Robberg Nature Reserve, Boulders Beach and the Fisherman's Walk in Brenton-On-Sea have offered me glimpses of beautiful seascapes and wi...

My first solo hike in the Peak District National Park, Hope Valley. I made a trail on Gaia GPS by linking two others: I started in Bamford, climbed to the Wheel Stones and the Salt Cellar and made my way through Fairholmes to Alport Castles. It took 27 mi/43.5 km, 996 m in elevation and 3 days to complete. Part of my Treasure project which aims to raise awareness and funds for the 10 defunded n...
