Violet Moon Media : Wargame Heroes
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 31 ม.ค. 2024
Welcome to Violet Moon Media!
This is our first channel, concentrating mainly on tabletop wargaming (that is, using miniatures on a table, using dice to resolve events that have a random aspect, such as combat - rather than simply sitting using a console and tv!); however, It will also include none-wargaming related content, normally posted on a Sunday (under our 'Something for the Weekend' banner) - this will include humourous looks at the TH-cam process.
We hope to have our second channel active in 2025, lead by Mrs Wifey-Woman, and will cover a much wider range of content!

I love Disney cartoons!
Thanks, these are the one's you won't see on Disney Plus!
Great work 😊 you’re very patient to paint all this little parts 👍 it would be great if you add a music on the video ❤
Thanks..... yeah, forgot to add music here.... doing it now!
I really like this channel I need to have more time to watch but I’l will thank you for putting this channel together
Thanks Joey, I find painting models very theraputic - No one is left behind!
@ I always wanted to get into a hobby of putting helicopter models together maybe one day
@ and that’s right no one left behind
@JoeyBagsofRecovery There are plenty of options, from fully working down to 1:144 scale (smaller than that tend to be single piece castings)... I will probably end up woth a couple of 1:100 scale Hind for my wargames.

Love the style bro
Thanks, been wating to do a Mentor Legion force since the 90's.... now I get the chance.
@ well keep it up
@@evanbrown4083 thanks, yeah, this Combat Patrol will all be Mentor Legion, as will most of my primaris from other part-work magazines and army boxes.
Absolutely stunning work !! You are an artist !! I have all five armies to complete !! Your work is inspirational !!
Thanks, we are planning to do the Battle of Waterloo in 2mm with a 1:1000 ground scale, so every company/squadron will be represented by a stand of miniatures such as these.
Lovely snipers!
Thanks Phil, at first I thought they were a little dark, but they do blend well with the green used for the base.
th-cam.com/video/2AS7HlYJE1c/w-d-xo.html
A great starter set for a great game
Yeah, I'm about to start painting the infantry then get some practice games in.
Classic...and superb!
Thanks, I'm very pleased at how this came out.... full painting video published later today.
Think about matt varnish
thanks, the shininess of these models is mainly due to the lighting use, they do have a matt finish to them.
Hello Dear, I visited your TH-cam channel and I found that your channel has no ranking. The title, description, tags are not SEO friendly. As a result views, likes and subscribers are not increasing. If you want I can help grow your channel organically.
Thank you for your concern, but you have no content nor, it seems, any subscribers. I have training in SEO and such, my channel is growing very nicely without such tactics.
Nice build video! Nice music too 🎶 can I ask the something about this, I want to know the dimensions of this kettenKrad vehicle if you can help me please that would be great.. size & length etc
I'm away from my miniatures at the moment (they are in the car waiting to go to a tournament tomorrow morning).... if it helps, the Warlord Miniature fits snugly on their 'pill' base, with a couple of mm clearance all the way around.
@@VioletMoonMediaWargames sweet thank you, good luck at your tournament!
Thanks, sadly, couldnt attand the tournament, had to wait for an engineer.... next tournament is a two day affair, on my birthday!
Nice unboxing
@@basicminiaturepainting thanks, just waiting for the tartan paint to arrive....
I'm never running on the pain track
Lol - I didn't spot that!.... love the tie dye vid btw!
Ideal for hobbyists getting into this awesome wallet draining experience
Thanks, yeah, I will be featuring as much stuff as I can steal from Mrs. Wifey-Woman..... It's an expensive enough hobby as it is, even when you have something in the corner that goes 'brrrr', so will be doing as many low-cost or recycling based projects as I can think of.
Handsome figures, and bases!👍👍
Thank you....
Lovely medieval units!
Thanks..... have around 5 thousand to go to finish this project!
I love this kit. Great way to do Blitzkrieg AND Pioniers. Great unboxing.
@@WarGamingNewbHistorical thanks, yeah, there's plenty of the backpacks, when you considr that a squad if 5 men would only have two packs... So this set is providing equipment for my DAK and a pinonier squad for my blitzkrieg germans too.
Well done, nice tuto!
Thanks, just a hundred or so to go.... as long as I dont get distracted by Highlanders!
Wow, Mr Cholmondley Warner clearly narrated this too!
lol
Excellent tutorial look good at the end
thank you, yeah, my methods can look messy until the final stages.

Superb unit!

That's almost painful to watch... LOL Abrams in fantasy camo. Brilliant! Issued in GREEN and then M1A1 was painted in NATO colors .. Last color change was sand for land of sand war... all painted the same in LIMA Ohio..No we never did field paint jobs... they came from the factory. They were factory painted so guess what ??? They all looked the same,.Some times the replacement parts were green, So you might see a replacement road wheel in green on an all SAND tank. Oddly enough there really is a manual for painting MERDC camo... It's a real book with percentages of colors to use and how it is applied I have seen the book.. it was phazed out slowly by the early 80's. Also you are missing the green for the base. Just saying! Save yourself some trouble everything that went to Afghanistan was SAND colored or green for the most part, Yes I know its not as much fun but I dont paint my Napoleonics purple just because I like the colors.
Hi there, thanks for the feedback. While in reality, no Abrams were sent to the field in MERDC 'Red Desert' scheme, no Abrams were sent to Afghanistan in the early-mid 80's either. Similarly, no T72's or T80's crossed into Western Germany.... Team Yankee is a game based upon a novel based upon a military scenario. My main gaming board is set up for desert terrain, and I wanted something a little different from the 'Beige' of the WWII AFV's.... and discovered this actual paint scheme, which, you will find, is in the book you are referring to and Battlefront's own literature.... the percentages of colour are approximatly correct (45/45/5/5) and doesn't include green at all. So, I will be painting up my forces for a 'military scenario', the US Army aiming to liberate Afghanistan from soviet occupation in the early-mid 1980's, when this scheme was still in use. I'm surprised you didn't mention my actual error..... an M60 on the loader's hatch.
Oh, and the legione de la Vistule had purple uniforms.....
Love that rulebook, looks beautiful
It is, and hefty too!.... I had a voucher, so got a spare for throwing at my opponant!
Great review. Thank you!
Thanks.
I do like 2mm. No more "twelve blokes taking a flag for a walk".
Yeah, I prefer mass battles to look like it.
Cut those nails!!!!!!!
I think they sold these as Surplus with rounds
Lol....
Didn't know they hade Color pictures back then 😂
@@crixlp748 first colour cartoon was 'Flowees and Trees' by Disney in 1932, the first colour movies date back to 1908 using different techniques
Pretty embarrassing
yeah, the era Disney have tried to forget.
Very nice. I look forward to seeing how you get on painting ‘em.
same here, hoping to fit some painting time in before Next Saturady.
dont forget, paint the Eyes ;-)
lol, will need much stronger glasses for those!
The 'Germans' in this film are all wearing WWI-vintage helmets. 😆
@@CaptainQuark9 lol, yeah....
Called shoot to kill and get no one was killed.
@@rdjhardy you know this is a training video and also that is meant for purpose acknowledgement, if want a real enemy while wanting to do an effect of the shoot-to-kill, in the field, you're probably dead already or the enemy goes nowhere.
Looks like they’re carrying Enfield No.1 Mk III’s or SMLE’s instead of their usual Mauser K98K’s. Very strange indeed.
The real measure of your wealth is how much youd be worth if you lost all your money.
thank you for that little gem.
I'd be worth £0.00
Oh god those nails! Do you ever wash them?
lol, had been in the shed for few hours putting my re-enactment kit into storage, combination of oil and dust takes a couple of goes with the swarfiga.
A very special boy
Thanks, the base will be finished (and the Nid toned down) when the whole Combat Patrol is finished - makes sense to complete the bases together.
thin your paints
lol, with the exception of the rattle can primer, this was 100% Army Painter, which are 'pre-thinned'.
@@VioletMoonMediaWargames no such thing my guy. Thin your paints.
@@SuperBobthebulder by 'pre-thinned', I mean they are already quite thin....
@@VioletMoonMediaWargames I mean you can argue with me. Or you could just take the hint. Thin your paints.
@@SuperBobthebulder how can you tell how thin the paints are when you haven't actually watched the painting video. I do not subscribe to the Duncan school, this was painted with the base/wash/base/top method, using paints that can't be thinned any further than the are, they would risk flooding if they were any thinner.
That's the same face I make when I see the price of the sets I want and that they are out of stock.
Its the face I make when Mrs Wifey-Woman asks 'whats in the bag?'....
Lovely knights, nice unboxing!
