No hate...It's simply "Bowie" coz of Bowie, and "addick" coz of CAFC...No other connotations.
I like spreading good karma, which I hope gets recognised, but due to my general demeanour, and burgeoning wisdom, I'm beginning to wonder...🤔
I lost access, some time back, to my original Bowieaddick channel...Boohoo. I know I'm not alone...The Bolan video tribute ( th-cam.com/video/c7rconJmyuw/w-d-xo.html) on the now defunct channel is mine, and as I can't access it anymore, I'd like to say a big THANKS on here for all of you who appreciated it.
And finally...My doctor said I might be bipolar, but I swear I didn't even sleep with that bear...😊

Transferred from my original VHS master tape...Tape was a little fuzzy, so did my best to clean it up. I haven't found better quality elsewhere. Enjoy! After the disappointing (for me) Tonight, and Never Let me Down albums, I found Tin Machine to be a breath of fresh air...They seemed to spark up Bowie's enthusiasm again, and drove him to adopt more adventurous ideas on future albums, like Outs...

The quality on the original tape from 1:35 onwards is poor...The sole purpose of the editing from there onwards was about trying to hide that! 😉 If you've enjoyed the content please Li...

Just been listening to Hunky Dory. Strange song on a strange album. What a treasure you posting this.
Thank you @@geinikan1kan
Thank you for posting this gem. Always been my favorite Bowie song. An obscurantist indeed! HA
Never seen him perform this live before, there are some awesome songs in his early albums that deserve a listen and he wrote them when he was very young. He was a genius.
I think the Bewly Brothers defined Bowie's vocal style for the rest of his life.
@@davidsuttie4192 z I loved his voice from that period…His vocal range from Young Americans onwards was also wonderful!
Wow that was fantastic, and I only just realised the references to his brother. I must listen again. xxxx
For ever and ever ...❤
WOW ! memories of me at 18 years old in my bedroom listening to this
@@whitelines3097 Great days!
So genius ... So strong ❤❤❤❤
One of the best tracks on Hunky Dory, should have been a chart hit!
Love it! Happy New Year Joe
All the Best to you, Josephine.:)
but its still a fantastic voyage, (imagine how better it could be without shooting some of them missiles)
I wonder what he meant by moondust?
@@cesp4827 Probably just a nice bit of imagery?? I think Bowie liked the idea that the listener had their own interpretations for songs/art.
@@joebowieaddick which worked really well!!!!!
@ I totally agree… “Personal interpretation.” The 3rd piece of information, which Bowie talked about, was what viewers/listeners got from it.👌
lets go prog with da bowie oh yeah
Never heard this!!!❤❤❤❤
Bowiase one of THE be, stfront runner in art, fashion, genre, music and style. There'll never be another David Bowie. Rest in paradise Maestro
One of the best Bowie songs. Brings me back to the seventies. Listening to Bowie while using the same stuff he used. 😉
Thanks for this!
@@IsaBella-nj6fe My pleasure, Isa. Thanks for watching.
A beautiful person - thank you David
Thanks for posting this. Bewlay brothers is already a monumental song. But this live version makes it even more emotional, more of everything...... This makes me cry. So beautiful!!!
It is such a beautiful song...Glad you loved it, Luc!
Sirian music
This song? Beautiful ❤❤❤
@@jorat2410 I agree Jo…It always remains in my personal favourite 5 Bowie songs…And that list changes a lot.
Was at a Bowie concert in 2004 in Frognerparken in Oslo and was right at the front when he got a love stick in the eye. Anyone have live video of a couple of songs from this concert? have only heard the audio recording. Very strange that no one has a video clip from the concert. it's simply too bad that no one has posted any video
I'm not sure live footage exists for that concert.? I was at the Bowie/TM gig in Brixton 1991, where a cigarette packet hit his bad eye...He ended up wearing a makeshift eyepatch for a short while after...Poor eye! Bad Karma or what?
WOW as Marc says
J’ai aimé ce que dit Monique , 😃🕺⭐️⚡️💫🥲❤️
🕺⭐️⚡️💫🥲❤️
Is this really the first time live?
He played it live a short time before, at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios on the 18th September 2002, in front of a small studio audience. That performance was broadcast on BBC radio on the 5th October 2002. Bowie's memory was never the best, but I think he's right in saying, that this performance is the "first time live in a theatre". I think he did go on to play it live a couple of times later on the Reality tour. I have a live version from a concert In Atlantic City, on the 29th May 2004.
@@joebowieaddickI think he would call you an obscurant lol
@@deecee4103 For sure😊
Thank you! I've known this song by heart for many years, I bear it in my mind till the day I die ...and beyond "leave my shoes and door unlocked I might just slip away"
Thank you ❤

Imagine seeing Bowie do this song live.
@@silentforest7147 It was a fabulous surprise.
Some months later, watching this again and it brought this classic quote to mind .... "“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain." .... genius 😥

Bowie was a very clever man so he may well have found success alone but he definitely owed a huge thanks to Bolan for showing him what music he was writing and playing at that time. His influence helped Bowie with Ziggy Stardust and gave him ideas for songs like Changes. It's also very easy to hear how The Stones gave Bowie another sound which he adopted.
KING DAVID….. HAS ALWAYS….(((UNIQUE)))….. WE LOVE YOU❤💡💡💡🌹🌹🌹
I mean, this is music at its best right here. It doesn't get any better than Bowie. I'm so happy he performed this one on his final tour as it holds a sentimental place in my heart, and I've always loved it. Long love THE DAME.
@@tintin7420 It's wonderful how music stirs all kinds of emotions past and present.
This interviewer couldn't be more awkward.
Their Live At The Docks blew us away one night when I had friends over. I had received the video in the mail, I traded Bowie vids with people around the world and it paid off. I wished they had released one last album just to see where they were at. I liked TM but sometimes each member seemed to be off in their own direction and it seemed off to me at times. I was in a band and convinced them to do "Under The God" and many people asked me about that song after the shows.
I used to trade videos and CD's as well, Mark!...I remember getting very excited when new stuff turned up in the mail. I agree about them being off in their own direction at times. I saw them lots of times, and that definitely was the case live. I remember them saying in an interview that they liked to improvise, using the term "jazz approach". I would've loved another album, but I at least TM seemed to free up Bowie artistically, and he went on to produce 'The Buddha of Suburbia and Black Tie White Noise', and some fantastic stuff after that.
@@joebowieaddick Do you realize we could have traded? I traded with the Bowie impersonator who was in the "Little Wonder" video. David Brighton I believe was his name. He actually bought vids from me. I was so lucky trading I had people come stay at my house and got a tape of Earthling before it was released. What a great fan-base! What you said about TM and freeing Bowie up looks like something I'd post lol. Damn man we might have traded. I advertised in the record collector etc. Then called my list Bowie 2000 before 2000 lol I was so ahead of the times lol!
@@joebowieaddickI have to tell you this story; it was so funny to me! One day I planned a music night with friends because I had rare Bowie stuff pouring in the mail. You know what I mean. (Before I forget and end up posting another long post, can you share some TM live stories? I never got to see them.) So I was driving down the road at the same time my roommate and friend were going to the store in their car. They had these giant smiles on their face because they finally got to hear Bowie before me LOL!!! They said the record store played Earthling but they couldn't buy it yet I said I heard it too I have it back at the house it came in the mail as a surprise for me. Their smile faded and they were like of course! It figures! Too funny!
@@joebowieaddick Man, I'm gonna embarrass myself with these posts lol. There's so much to say when it comes to Bowie fans. I liked most of TM2 because it seemed more coherent than the first one and I thought a third one might actually nail it. As for 'The Buddha of Suburbia I lost my mind reading about it and not being able to find it back then. It's really hard for me to be critical of Bowie, but the TM period was my least fave but again The Docks kicked serious ass. I had a great copy and had it cranked when I played it.
@@markm5193 Nice to hear your stories, Mark! We may very well have traded, Or at least ended up with stuff that originated from us. I purchased a JVC VHS video recorder as soon as they hit the shops in 1980, so I got to record the rerun of the Marc shows. The Bowie episode was very sought after, but I could never part with it...I did subsequently make copies from the master tape for people, when I got a second machine. Yes, I couldn't find 'The Buddha of Suburbia" for some time...I'm guessing it probably got the same treatment from the Record Companies that "Low" did. " Not commercial enough", Too weird to release David"...It was great that he went onto produce what he wanted regardless. I personally think that Reeves/TM helped to free him up. What followed was for me at least, a massive improvement on Let's Dance, Tonight & Glass Spiders.
Thank you for sharing this, Joe! Marc came up with so many unique songs and moments. The amazing thing about Bowie is how Ziggy was short lived yet had a massive impact that will never be matched. The haircut that Bowie chose from a magazine of a Japanese model is legendary, and Suzie Ronson takes credit and even wrote a book after decades of disparaging Bowie.
Glad you enjoyed it, Mark! I always liked music, but only got completely hooked on it when I first heard Bolan. He was a breath of fresh air...And then Bowie turned up. How lucky were we! ☺
@@joebowieaddick There was so much music back then too. I look back at the 70's and am blown away. Personally, I think it was the greatest musical decade in history. Not that the 60's weren't good; it's just that the 70's flourished big-time, and someone like Bolan had his own universe, which was so unique.

Ironically enough, the death of Bowie is what actually spurred me to dive deep into his music. I have the excuse of being 19 at the time but still, there's so much music out there its easy to miss stuff even the real big stars
