This year did fly by. So glad to see Winterfest again. I was touched by your intro. You are very talented, so don't give up. TH-cam takes time to take off, maybe even 2 or 3 yrs. Don't give up. You never can tell where one road will take you and who you will meet along the road. As long as you love what you're doing. One last thought, I've lived in various places and driven through 40 states and I can tell for a fact El Paso has the best people this country has to offer. Back'n 1978 I and 2 Army Buddies all ETS and met up in Escondido CA. One of our expeditions landed us broke down deep in Borrego Springs in our 1960ish VW van. I was out for 3 days with a couple cases of Coors and a lid of Mexican weed. Now when I hear "Horse with no name" I remember back with feelings of destiny and the unseen beauty of life in the desert and how I hitched hiked to Texas for the 1978 Texas World Music Festival. 🤟

been eating there since i was a kid but honestly over rated. except for the fries the burger's about as good as whataburger and the "chico's tacos" are nothing more than fried tacitos in thin tomatoe broth. not very good actually. tried em once and went back to the burger XD.

Only problem with el paso it has nothing to offer, streets are all torn up can't drive without all the potholes, no leasur , it's honer then he'll out hear, it gets cold out hear, tears no fun out hear. The city tax you to much and for wat. All they is wipe there ass with.

Hey man thanks for the history lesson. I've lived in el paso since I was in kindergarten. I'm a white guy who has not always been impressed with our mexican community. I have learned a lot since then . Our people have the best work ethics of any race. I work with a lot of Hispanic folks they don't mess around. It's family first. El paso is a different but such a cool place to live. I'm definitely proud to live here . And we definitely have the best dam mexican food in texas.

I was stationed in fort Bliss back in 2010-2014. And i still tell people how underrated el paso is. I plan on visiting next year with my kids now to show them around. I'll definitely be watching more of your videos to refresh my memory and to find new spots to visit. Thank you and God bless.

I lived there in the early 80s. Those tenements were barely introduced to indoor plumbing in 1983. It's very quiet now. Back then the streets were always occupied with folks. Chihuahuita had a gang which was a force to contend with that lived mostly in the tenements. Also, there was a faction of a motorcycle group that lived in the houses. Lico was head of that faction and would teach boxing at the rec center there to the young teenagers. Lico was always trying to bring the two groups together as there was some competition and bad blood between them. The park was always full of hand ball players and cholos who used the proximity to the border for financial gain (contraband and coyoteando). The rival gang was Puente Negro from Juarez side, named after the railroad bridge crossing the border-very dangerous group. Pasadores were down in the river passing people over in inner tubes for pocket change. Some would cross for the day or others for good. The migra would be all over that neighborhood looking for dodging citizen-less people who had just crossed. Back then the migra would give them a couple small batazos if they made them chase them. The civil rights lawyers put an end to that. They used Chihuahuita as a back drop in the movie "The Border" starring Jack Nicholson. My homeboy got to come out in the movie (He throws a bottle at somebody). Pretty accurate movie of those times showing the corruption and even human smuggling.

check out the wine history of El Paso , wine was exported from El Paso to Europe and when a disease killed the wine grapes in Europe, El Paso pulled up their grape vine root balls and shipped them to Europe , they are the same vines grown today in Europe so European wine comes from El Paso from a very long time ago , these are some of my ancestors. i think that is really cool ,something to tell snobs when they try to put El Paso down.
