You should have discussed the strategy behind spreading the prophecy. Convincing the weak and fearful first and using them to help convince nonbelievers. Not unlike missionaries in our world focus on the poor, vulnerable, uneducated and fearful to spread the message of Christ. Paul told the Freman he was not the messiah and they decided that is what the messiah would say. The prophecy was planted in Freman society for future control of the population hundreds of years earlier. Paul could see multiple possible futures and saw the death and destruction a Freman jihad would bring and he hated it. Helping the Freman fight their oppressors helped keep Paul and his mother alive while getting revenge.

Love this guys! Dave C. here- Can we please let GOOD Superhero movies have a fair shake? I know they can be easily dismissed. But there’s a story here. We grouped up about 10 friends to go see Avengers Infinity War when it came out. Some of those friends were Nowdy and a few of his boys. During the iconic scene, Thor awakens the heart of the dying star, and the living battle axe, Stormbreaker which forged into existence with the help of a sacrifice play by Groot. Then as if propelled toward destiny, Thor is zapped through the Bifrost back to Wakanda with Rocket Raccoon and Groot for an 11th hour arrival in the big battle sequence. Everyone is blindsided, but the Avengers’ anthem swells and gives its approval to the charge as he lands! The team had been broken - scattered. Thor looks around and sees his friends joined in the battle with him. All of a sudden he brazenly shouts, “briiiing me ThanOS!” as he takes his destructive flying leap into the enemy fray to go after the big bad. Describing that feeling I had in the theater that day is not something that I brag about because Nowdy looked sideways over at me and said… dude are you ok? Are you having a seizure? 😂 Calm down! So, to this day, Nowdy refuses to see a Marvel movie with me. Because he likes the A-lister stuff. And I do too but man…. Avengers strikes some nerve in me for sure. I may need help. Because it happened again the next year when Endgame released. That final (also iconic) “Portals” scene. I felt like that was a picture of the final judgment. Like they tapped into a glimpse of the battle of Armageddon, as all the armies who had vanished before, appeared once again to fight when all hope seemed lost. And the music!!! The music always underlines it for me. So, why do those hero team big epic battle sequences stir something in me that makes me overly excited? And why can’t I get this excited about the gospel? Sorry to ramble on here, but I just really enjoyed this a lot! Thanks for putting it out there! Look forward to the next one!

As a teenager a half century ago, as an every-Sunday Presbyterian, my wise minister told me exactly this: find a Bible that I want to read and cherish it. For me, that was the Thompson Chain Reference; I still love it I also do enjoy the ESV Study Bible, but I find study Bibles too bulky and distracting. I just recently decided to try the NLT and bought a Schuyler copy from Evangelical Bible. I'm loving it! Decided to read it cover to cover, just finished Esther today. The old, familar stories told with a fresh perspective. Best wishes from the Houston-Galveston area!

One of my most favorite bibles is Crossway ESV heritage. It’s single column but the way the text is setup, it’s very easy to read from for a long periods of time. I couldn’t come up with a better layout. I also love that the text doesn’t go into the gutter.

The Bible is a Catholic book ❤️

Hmmmn...Catholics use the Bible but they don't consider it the final authority on anything. Catholics rely on church tradition and church doctrine (anything Pope's may have decreed throughout the centuries - "Cathechism".) as their doctrine.
