Yes I’m building a boat, no I’ve never seen the guy on NCIS. I’ve wanted to build a boat since I was about 13 years old, but with a single car garage and no money, What’s a kid to do? Wait till you hit your late 40’s of course. This is the first project of this type I’ve taken on, and looking back there have been things I would do differently in retrospect, but it’s finally getting there.
A small mistake 😯and steaming cockpit trim.
We have a minor equipment malfunction and start steaming the sapelle trim around the cockpit to hide the plywood.

We start on the cover boards by making some plywood templates. It was a bit of a struggle trying to figure out the angles between the boards.

Trying to finish up the plywood templates so that we can move on to the actual plywood sub deck. The sub deck will be meranti bs1088 plywood.

I’m a member of the Mississippi Valley ACBS. On Tuesday’s a group of us meet to work on projects. I’ve moved the boat over there to finish up the deck and various other items that are left. If building a zip or glen-l I would highly encourage you to seek out your local ACBS chapter.
