Oh wow. 😲 That’s crazy. I have a few questions, How was it being on set of Kissin You? Like being there with Biggie, Craig Mack, Ed lover, Etc. Did you ever talk to Biggie & Do you have any photographs with him. 😯

@@ericlynnwright3636 Hi. It was such a memorable, fun day. I think it was Bad Boy’s 3rd Annual Family Picnic so they decided to shoot the Kissin’ You/Oh Honey (REMIX) video in Valley Stream State Park, right down the street from where I lived at the time, out on Long Island. Keisha didn’t call me and invite me herself, I guess she was too busy but word about it got to me and I came there with a few of my new family members. It was May of ‘96 and hot out there that day. I stayed in and out of Total’s trailer with Keisha’s mother, Ms. Patricia, Ms. Janice Combs, and Faith who was pregnant with CJ at the time. I was pregnant too! Chile, one month and didn’t even know yet! I was out there drinking, smoking, singing “Happy Birthday” to Biggie, having water fights. I threw a cup of water in Veronica Webb’s face. She was a big supermodel back in the 90s, and we were all out there just having fun. Foxy Brown was out there looking fly. That wasn’t the first Total video I was in. I was also at their first video shoot for, ‘Can’t You See’. Now, that video was shot in the winter. On one of the coldest nights in NYC! Puff was nice enough to let us sit in the trailer with Biggie and them. I was so thankful to him for that! He also let me stand right beside him as he was directing their video. I remember he couldn’t find his cell phone, which back then, not many people had a cell phone, we were still rocking our beepers and Sky pagers. So, I don’t have any photo or videos. Thank goodness!!!😂Puff had a panic look on his face and he asked me, “You seen my phone?” I was like, “No. I have not seen your phone.” Biggie looked so fly when he walked on set in that leather suit. L.L. Cool J came through and I think I reminded him of our very first meeting, since we’ve bumped into each other a few times in NYC. There was a dance scene in the video but it ended up on the cutting room floor. When we took a dinner break, We sat in the trailer with BIG and them, we smoked L’s with Biggie. My girls and me had our own greenery!😄Puff went up to the Shark Bar to get food. Biggie asked them to bring him something back. When they came back, I don’t think they brought him any food. It was a memorable cold, night. Another story, my ex-boyfriend ended up becoming Craig Mack’s tour DJ and toured overseas with him after he left off of Bad Boy’s label. I’d met and hung out with my friends and Ed Lover at this club, Nell’s and one time I attended a dinner birthday party at Ed Lover’s high rise apt in North Jersey. We’ve shared a few fun times a few years before we were all at this Total video shoot.

@@lisafromthegroveAw, You’re so lucky to have been in the presence of these people. 🥺 I was born in the early 00’s and would have loved to be around during the golden era of hip hop & music in general. I don’t know why but I always got weird vibes from Keisha in total. Watching her interview’s or any performance they did, The energy she would give off was weird. But you are extremely blessed to have been apart of this Bad Boy history. And I never knew Faith was also on set because if I remember correctly, Charlie Baltimore (Biggie’s girlfriend at that time) was their aswell. And I remember Charlie Baltimore & Jadakiss talking about how on set of this music video is when Biggie first heard Tupac’s Hit ‘Em Up diss track. As you can probably tell I am a huge fan of Biggie! Do you mind if I ask how you found out Biggie passed, I’m working on a documentary on the stuff leading up to his murder and the aftermath. 🙏🏽

@@ericlynnwright3636 “Lucky” is the right word. I was fortunate to not have gotten in too deep into the entertainment industry. Those people were blessed to have been in my presence. I personally love the 80’s Hip-Hop era. I grew up in the 70s and 80s. I met L.L. Cool J on Christmas night, back in 1988, in a nightclub in NYC. KRS-1, his wife, Ms. Melody 🙏🏽, Hurricane, and many others were at the club that night. They were playing lots of House music which I also love. I was there with a few of my girls. One of my best friends loved L.L. Cool J. I loved Prince more than L.L. So, a guy comes over to me in the club and he tells me, “L.L. Cool J wants to meet you.” I was like, “Oh, where he at?” (in my Monie in the Middle voice)😁and his friend was like, “He’s standing over there.” I was like, “He’s going to have to meet me half way”, because he was all the way across the room and I could see people were looking and staring over his way. I told my friend I would be back, I walk over to meet L.L. He and I laugh and talk for awhile. Then, he asks me to leave the club with him. I told him I couldn’t go, even though I really wanted to leave with him. He told me he wouldn’t forget me. I asked him to write some rap songs about me. He did. My name is Lisa Renee. I say I’m the one who inspired the song, “Around the Way Girl”. I don’t think I’ve ever had a “Big Ol Butt” so maybe he had another “Lisa” in mind when he wrote that song. You probably picked up Keisha’s weird “Bad Girl Gemini” snake side. You can imagine how some girls in our town were secretly hating and jealous because I was meeting these entertainers and they were writing raps and songs about me. Keisha was that fake friend who plots for your downfall. Especially after L.L., and a member of the group, The Force MD’s wrote the song, ‘Are You Really Real’ about me. Prince 🙏🏽💜💜💜 has wrote plenty of songs about us too. Since 2007. That’s a whole other story. Faith was definitely in the trailer and on the set of this video. If you look closely, you can see her several times. One time she’s sitting near me at a table. I was all over, sitting and standing in the video. I don’t remember seeing Charli Baltimore. If she was there I probably didn’t know who she was. But she probably was there. When Biggie passed, I heard it announced on the radio. After listening to his lyrics in songs like, “Ready to Die” and all that was going on in his personal life, and supposedly he was planning to start doing his own thing and leave Bad Boy, I wasn’t surprised to hear he had been sh0t and k!lled.

They really did. BET caught a lot of understandable flack later in the 2000s, but their "Golden Years" was definitely the 90s. A lot of black artists from that era should be thanking BET. Without their platform, many of them would have never made it onto national television.
