The United States Geological Survey’s (USGS) vision of a 3D National Topography Model (3DTNM) provides the integration of elevation and hydrography data. The hydrographic component, the 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP), is comprised of hydrography data derived from elevation and is processed or contributed by stakeholders, using specifications created by the USGS and 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) data. Through the application of these specifications and thorough validation of the data, the resulting hydrography data is horizontally and vertically integrated with the 3DEP digital elevation models better than ever before.
