After making several pumpkins, I think turning the pumpkin inside out before stuffing it, hides any imperfections and looks better.

You’re welcome 🤗 maybe try a different hook size for the sides of the basket. Everybody crochets with different tension sometime just going with a bigger hook makes a huge difference. Let me know if it works.
