Yes, the thrift prices have sure increased in the past few years. I guess we’re seeing inflation everywhere. But good deals are still to be found.
Great price on the vanity tray! And I would have definitely grabbed the canisters for myself! Not that I need more storage containers. 😂
@@zenkatvintage I know. I thought about getting them for myself, but they wouldn’t really fit into the style of my kitchen unfortunately. Stunning pieces though! The vanity tray was definitely my favourite out of the home decor items I found in Edmonton. So hard when you don’t have the space in your luggage to bring back everything that you want. My next Alberta trip will definitely be via car instead of a flight, so I can load up on all the goodies I find.

@@zenkatvintage That was in the Strathmore Salvation Army - just outside of Calgary. Their prices were great! The pitcher and the pottery were definitely my fav finds there. I’m finding that thrift store prices are quite a bit lower in the smaller centres than the big cities. It’s worth the longer drive to find the better deals. Do you find the same in BC?
@TandEHome Definitely! Greater Victoria can be pretty pricey, but the smaller communities are where it's at. My time is so limited lately though, it's hard to get the drive in to go and check them out. I've also pretty consistently seen people reporting amazing prices in AB in general.

I've done well selling what I call "complementary mismatch" sets of things like the brass candle sticks. If I see one that's too gorgeous, I buy it and wait to find another couple to group with it. Doing it in sets of odd numbers works well for me (3 & 5 depending on their size). An idea because sometimes it's too hard leaving the cool ones behind! And that gem peacock... dude! 😍

@@zenkatvintage I love shopping at the small town thrift shops outside of the city. They really do take care to clean everything and stage it so nicely. And yes, trinket boxes are awesome sellers for me!

@@zenkatvintage The brass peacock candleholders were my favourite buy! I had a hard time deciding whether to keep them or resell them. I ended up selling them, and they were gone within a couple days of listing on Facebook Marketplace.
I wish my stores had as much Christmas as yours! 😂 And my vote on the wooden thing near the end is coat/clothing hook. Always fun shopping with you. 💖
