So far, it been a rip off for me. I was a full blown SW user for years. My profile picture is a SW drawing. I paid the $50 and install 3D experience on my PC and it doesn't work. Complete ripoff and junk so far.
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your SOLIDWORKS Connected installation. SOLIDWORKS for Makers has a dedicated community for support here: r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/community/swym:prd:R1132100503382:community:kKnaKWHGTPC4ut-q1X_9uA If you are having any trouble with launching specifically, and are willing to provide some more specific details of what isn't working and where you are meeting hurdles, we'd be happy to provide any recommendations that may help get you up and running!
Can we launch solidworks makers without internet??
@ajeesh3485 Once you are in Offline Mode, you can launch without an internet connection via the Desktop Shortcut. You will need internet connection for the initial launch to take the license offline.
Thank you
It’s the worst piece of software I’ve ever used. Been a sold works user since 2022. Run away from this garbage as fast as possible. This is a bad sign for solid works… prepare for its collapse.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS can feel a bit different, especially for long-time users of SOLIDWORKS. It is designed to provide a more connected, collaborative experience, and while it may take some getting used to, many users find the extended capabilities beneficial for added flexibility and capabilities such as revision control. We always appreciate constructive feedback, as this will help Dassault Systemes shape the future of the solution!
Love you Ricky gervais. One of the greatest times in my life was watching your HBO show with Steve. 😅 Miss you. You're so brilliant.
For any future viewers - xCAD PLM Collaboration is now named CAD Collaboration. Icon is the same.
how to update the existing sldasm using batch process
Hello! Would you be able to provide a bit more context as to the workflow you're trying to achieve? The batch upload tool is used to import data into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Once this is saved into 3DEXPERIENCE, you can open the data directly from the platform and make changes to the individual components, assemblies, and drawings, and then save those changes back to the platform with the 'Save to 3DEXPERIENCE' command from the 'File' dropdown menu.
Hi, what is the .exe file that runs Solidworks on my computer. I need to find it so I can assign it to my gpu in control panel> display properties
The .exe file for a SOLIDWORKS Connected installation is located at 'C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE\SOLIDWORKS'. Pro tip: If you open up task manager, you can right click on an application's process and select 'Open file location' to find this location for any of your applications!
Sir, from where to get or download serial number???
@Stories5137 you will need to get your serial number from the reseller you purchased from!
I am getting a “revocation information” error when I try to install SolidWorks Connected

i would like to create a template with the physical product's name as "X0". Do you know how to create this? Because every time I create a new part the physical product's name is allways the same of the title name. And every time I save this part use the comand save as or pack and go the physical name is allways the same
To change the format of the 'Name' field for Physical Products, you need to access the Content Naming Rules section of the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center. Here, you can select Physical Product from the Content Type dropdown and then format the prefix, interfix, and suffix as needed. Only a prefix is needed, and then a counter is added automatically after this. I'm not quite sure I fully understand how the link between Title and Name is set up on your platform. If you have autonaming turned on, then the Title will automatically pull the Name as an initial value, however it is the Name for the CAD Family, rather than Physical Product, so if this is what you are referring to, you can select CAD Family from the Content Type dropdown as described above and format as needed.

Hello, is it possible to do this same process with Catia V6? There is only Catia V5 in the list.
CATIA V6 is natively integrated with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, so I believe you should only need to carry out the first step of creating the attributes themselves in the Attributes Management section and the mapping step is not needed. Once the attributes are created, they should show up in the properties panel of your model.
I just got solidworks for makers which comes with 3dex, but cannot figure out how to add my friend to a collaborative space. I 'have no more roles' to assign apparently to anyone I invite, but I also can't figure out how to invite him anyway. His user doesn't come up. I feel as if I am missing something or am in the wrong mode. Any help would be awesome!
In order to invite someone to your platform, you need to first change the following setting. Platform Management dashboard > Members tab > Configure Member Options sub tab and then turn 'Allow administrators to grant roles without assigning automatically the associated license' ON. Once you've toggled this on, proceed with inviting a new user (www.swyftsol.com/blog/how-to-assign-and-manage-your-3dexperience-roles-licenses). When on the Roles tab of the invite process, toggle 'Assign License' OFF. Once you invite them, on their platform they'll need to access their Platform Management dashboard > Members tab, click on the information icon next to their user, and toggle 'Restrict Usage to this Platform' OFF. At this point you should be able to cross collaborate between each other's platforms!
@@SWYFTSolutions This was a very helpful comment and I thank you for the response! When my friend accepts the invite in his email, 3dex says he is 'denied access' (same happens if he tries to invite me). Any idea what this could be? The invite sends correctly and everything, but when clicked on, we don't have 'access'. We are logged into the correct accounts and everything and both have active 3dex accounts + makers licenses....
@@otis8185 - This generally has to do with the 'Restrict Usage to this Platform' portion of my instructions. Can you please confirm that this is turned OFF for all roles?
As a hobbyist I would pay twice the price to just use SolidWorks without that 3DExperience crap. Absolutely the worst, amongst the most unintuitive platforms to exist
What if we change something in local toolbox library? For example if we add material property in toolbox parts, then the icon status is "needed to be save". I cannot do this because it is released. Adding revision does not work in this case. In other words: how to update toolbox parts in the platform after modification in local library?
Hello! At this time, the only way to propagate the local changes of toolbox components to 3DEXPERIENCE is to delete the copy on the platform and upload an updated copy. This does require that the components are suppressed in all assemblies they are used in, and the assemblies are saved to the platform. Then the locally cached toolbox components in %localappdata%\DassaultSystemes\CATTemp\ENOUSWC\Resources\<TenantID>\Toolbox need to be deleted. Once the local copies are cleared, an admin can delete the copy on the platform. Once they have been deleted from the platform, you can open the assemblies that referenced the toolbox components and unsuppress them. It will automatically pull in the updated copy and save to the platform on your next save. To ensure feedback is available for future streamlining of this process, I would recommend submitting your idea on the SOLIDWORKS Enhancements Ideas Community! (r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/community/swym:prd:R1132100503382:community:I23-EB1ZRQyk2sLG5y9Kig)
@@SWYFTSolutions Thank you for your answer. I understand the idea. However, this method is VERY time-consuming when you have many different projects (with thousands of parts) saved to the cloud. Opening every assembly and sub-assembly and suppressing toolbox components one by one requires a lot of patience and time (which I don't have). Moreover, this method requires making revisions of every assembly when they are "released" (so almost all, in my case). This is not desirable. And what if there will be a need to customize the toolbox once more? Repeat the process again and again? There should be a better way...
The fact that there is a tutorial on how to open SolidWorks is just comical!
Trying to get it to open is the most aggravating thing ever. I keep following the suggested way here, but it keeps opening up more 3D experience webpages.
So weldon sir
Amazing this lecture is very nice sir
Hello, is there an easy way to pre-save the complete toolbox?
Hello! There is no way to pre-save the entire toolbox at this time. This could end up consuming a large amount of storage for components that are ultimately never used. For additional reference of best practice, you can reference the 'Working with Toolbox' SolidPractice guide here: my.solidworks.com/support/solidpractices
@@SWYFTSolutions All right, yes, I understand that you shouldn't save all the standards, but I have configured the toolbox so that it only contains the parts that are used in the company. So it is relatively inconvenient that a leader has to save the designer's parts in advance every time.
@@Undertaker50270 - Thank you for your clarification! If you want non-Leaders to save Toolbox components, you can set the default maturity to be In-Work, rather than Released. Then, a Leader could release them after the fact if desired. You can modify this setting in Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center > Standard Libraries Management > Toolbox settings > State. Once changed to In-Work, Authors should be able to save toolbox components as well. Side Note: As of 2024x FD01, you can upload an export of your Toolbox Database File to automatically share with your users.
Great, but how do you get to that stage? I'm looking some overly complicated UI that makes no sense.
Hello! You may be in the web interface for the admin and collaboration tools (www.solidworks.com/3dx). If you have not yet installed SOLIDWORKS Connected, then you'll need to follow this guide: th-cam.com/video/X6cckzCN8ik/w-d-xo.htmlsi=up03K33ZpeW3IKHw If you've already installed, you can follow this guide for assistance launching the application: th-cam.com/video/rLjRHInWF5A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Y3tmldz3ttRqq49a
Thanks for this, very helpful. I have an assembly open in SolidWorks and would like to check that all the components have the correct bookmarks, I was hoping to have a bookmark column in the sidebar I could reference, but alas no. Is there a way in 3dx i can see them?
Great question! If you carry out the Save with Options command, then there should be a Bookmark column that will confirm what bookmark each of the components is currently in. This command can be accessed from the Lifecycle and Collaboration tab in your CommandManager, from the Command Search, or from the right-click menu in the 3DEXPERIENCE task pane along the right side of your screen. Note, this is revision specific, so it will only show what bookmark that specific revision is currently in.
@@SWYFTSolutions Thank you I have seen that window many times but obviously never looked properly!
My email was confirmed, payment confirmed, received email to "Launch your 3D experience" when I go to the link I don't have the link to install SolidWorks. I have reached out in every possible way. I don't get the "Collaborative Designer for Solidworks" icon. 3d doesn't help in support chat, not in a support ticket either. Contacting the platform admin is impossible. Solidworks has called me 2x trying to help but they only were able to give me an email, of course no reply. The worst (3d) experience ever, just a horrible site and company. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, I have SW maker license but when I open it keeps connecting and showing me the message “unable to connect 3d experience” every 4-5 sec and it gives me two option either retry or cancel. Have you ever run into this problem? I’ve been logging into the website and tried opening it from there (instead of desktop icon) hoping software would recognize my sign in but no luck. Do you know how to troubleshoot it? Thanks
@Emonkabir4818 Clearing your cache is also always a goof first step! If that doesn't work try searching the Maker community here -r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/#community:kKnaKWHGTPC4ut-q1X_9uA Clearing your cache is also always a goof first step!

Hello! Are you having difficulty accessing the platform in general? If you have a commercial subscription, you can access the platform at www.solidworks.com/3dx. If you have a makers license, you will log in to the following URL: eu1-makers-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com/. If you are having difficulty getting 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS or Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS assigned to your account, then you can follow the following guide: www.swyftsol.com/blog/how-to-assign-and-manage-your-3dexperience-roles-licenses. Let us know if we misunderstood your question!
Excellent group of videos. Thank you, I have purchased the Maker license. Your videos are a great way to embark on this learning curve. I love the way the 3Dexperience platform was architected.
Hey I did a student subscription but it didn't download the solid works app. do you know if it's not included or something?
There are 2 different student offers. The desktop option includes the SOLIDWORKS download, the Cloud Apps for Students is fully browser-based roles. Do you know which one you chose?
I have cloud based student offer purchased. Wondering if I can use the cloud based solidworks in macOS. Do i need to make any installations? This platform is too complicated for me. Thanks
2) 0:28 I do NOT see opttion to use 3DEXP SOlidworks under my compass... I only see a bunch of communities.
It sounds like you may be in the public tenant instead of your tenant. Did you receive a link to access your platform yet? If so, make sure you use that link!
I already bought it. But how do I USE the darn thing? I'm trying to CAD omdel on the cloud using 3DEXP Solidworks and can't seem to find how to access it. AH! This is feature overload. SO much stuff. I feel like this is QUickbooks.
1) 0:18 how did you get the 3dexp icon in your task bar?
The 3DEXPERIENCE icon in the task bar will become available after the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher is installed, which is done prior to installing SOLIDWORKS Connected.
You guys spend millions or even tens of millions on revamping into 3Dexperience and yet you have somehow made it into one of the hardest to navigate platforms. One shouldnt have to look up how to start a tool that they purchased. It should be so intuitive that they'd have to be a "read the instructions on the shampoo bottle" person to not understand how to. The navigation menu online looks like it's from 2010. Do better
3DEXPERIENCE has been adding more and more enhancements to help improve the user experience and these enhancements will only continue! If you have any specific suggestions, then I would recommend submitting them to the following link! forum.solidworks.com/idea/add
3dexperience is trash! Literal garbage!
I dont' see the option for save folder to 3D experience under ad ins. I do see "Batch Save to 3D experience" but even when checked, that option is greyed out.
Hello, Samer! This tool has been updated to Batch Save to 3DEXPERIENCE. If you have already gone into the add-ins and turned on the Batch Save to 3DEXPERIENCE add-in in the Active Add-ins column, then I would try have it checked in both the Active Add-ins column and the Startup column and restarting SOLIDWORKS. Also, make sure all parts/assemblies/drawings are closed out. If all of these steps are followed, and it is still greyed out, please submit a support ticket with your Value Added Reseller (VAR) to ensure the cause for this behavior is resolved!
hi, Im using solidworks 2022...do you know where can I download 3d experience ? thanks
Hello! Do you know if you purchased your license with 3DEXPERIENCE roles? Everyone is able to access the public tenant but you will need a paid account to connect SOLIDWORKS to 3DEXPERIENCE. You could always reach out to your reseller to verify!
Excellent, this was NOT presented well at 3DExperience World 2023. Using configurations on the platform was discouraged.
Hello, Stephen! While using configurations on the platform may not be the right choice for everyone, it is important to understand how they work. Essentially, if you are using configurations for objects that truly have a different part number, i.e. different lengths of the same beam, then it provides a lot of power. If you're using configuration for a different representation of the same part/assembly, i.e. different position of an assembly, you would want to use derived configurations to reduce the amount of clutter it results in on the platform.
God the obfuscation Solidworks has done in just launching their damn application is almost enough to convince me to abandon it. I'm fine with paying a subscription for the software... just let me use it already! I don't need nor want (nor appreciate) being sold an "experience", and the blindingly terrible attempt at deceit just grows contempt for Dassault. "Experience", please. I'm making a model to 3d print a fancy box, not undergoing a life changing revelation. Take my money and gtfo of my way. Thank you SWYFT Solutions for helping me get access to it again!
wow they made the worst UI I have ever seen.. I had to open this video to find that hidden quicklaunch button. Which.. seems to not have work.. goody..
Would you mind sharing what behavior you are experiencing when using the quick launch button (I am guessing you are referencing the Desktop Shortcut)? We are happy to help troubleshoot!

You can find it at academy.swyftsol.com/courses/associate-certification-training-solidworks-cswa
Do you know why Title mapping is only unidirectional and can't be changed? We want to use Title instead of Description as it seems a more prominent field in Enovia. However, with the unidirectional mapping, if we update Title in Enovia, it won't get pushed to Solidworks. Makes no sense to me.
Hello Tom, Title was bidirectional at one point in the past. This has been updated to improve stability from the system's perspective. Please attempt the following workflow to see if this produces the results desired. 1. In web browser, right-click on a Physical Product and select Edit Properties 2. Edit title and save changes 3. Open in SOLIDWORKS You should see the updated title. If you are not seeing it, and the part was already locally cached, try right clicking on the part in the 3DEXPERIENCE MySession Add-in and select Reload from Server.
I'm learning so much more watching your vids than the official training. Nice work!
Glad to hear that! Let us know if there is other content that would be helpful, we are always open to suggestions!
