So very sorry for your loss. 💔 Ivy was a beautiful girl and it is clear how much you love her and gave her the best shot of recovering. I am not sure how I found your video, except I watch tons of horse videos, but your story spoke to me. While different animals, I recently lost one of my beloved rabbits for a similar affliction (it's called GI stasis in buns) and their diet and digestion is similar to horses. My bun had similar symptoms and I was given the option of exploratory surgery and my vet said if what she found when she opened her up had a low/no chance of recovery I could make the decision to euthanize at that point, which absolutely broke my heart. I didn't opt for surgery. There is no easy path when faced with a medical condition of a much loved pet/companion. I was given gut mobility meds, pain meds and fluids to administer and I tried nursing my girl back to health but she ended up passing in my arms days later after seeming to make improvements and be on the road to recovery. I have wondered if she had the same type of condition as your Ivy. 😥 Again I'm sorry for your loss and sending love your way.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m honoured that you found my tiny channel amongst the hundreds of thousands of equestrian channels out there. I’m so sorry for the loss of your rabbit, losing any animal is heart breaking and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Sending love to you ❤
eliza my heart breaks for you😢 you did truly everything you could for her and more, never think you gave her anything less. to be strong enough to make that huge decision all on your own is something to be proud of. you did the best thing for her and whilst it doesn’t feel like it now, you really did. you’ll always wonder “what if” but you did what was right in that moment and nobody can tell you otherwise. ivy is going to be so, so proud of you and her baby poppy when shes watching over your adventures together. my messages are always open so never feel like you’re alone! sending lots of love❤️🩹 rest easy ivy❤️
Thanks Molly❤ this is really kind, I hope she’s up there watching over us and knows that I’ll look after her baby forever😢
I’m so sorry about your Ivy. 😢💔🌈 Colic is so horrible. So many horses suffer from colic here in Ontario 🇨🇦. The change in temperature causes us horse parents so much anxiety as that’s usually when it happens here. I empathize with your pain. My pup…my 11 1/2 year border collie…my heart… crossed from kidney failure rather suddenly on December 27th. I hear you. It’s okay for us to not be okay. Sending you big hugs. 🐾🌈🕊️
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so sorry about your pup. Big hugs to you ❤️🩹❤️🩹
My heart breaks for you and little Poppy. It’s hard but these what ifs will only make your pain worse. You listened to your vet and you did everything you could.
Thank you lovely❤ I hope she’s watching her baby from up high x

Thank you so much! Cobs are fab horses, I bet Millie is lovely!
❤️
When talking about the hay nets you say doubling up the nets helps avoid ulcers, where would the ulcers occur?
If they finish their food too quickly overnight and are left several hours without food, an increase and build up of stomach acid can cause ulcers. Double netting slows them down.
@@elizafayeequestrian thank you for explaining that, it’s very helpful 🙂
