okay am i losing my mind or is there a video missing? You finished chapter 7 at the end of part 26 of the playthrough, part 27 is just supports and yapping, and yet you're in chapter 9 in the start of this one. Did you say something that I missed? Is chapter 8 just not here?

I'm not trying to backseat game for you, but I do have a little bit of advice regarding Ashe, you don't have to take it to heart, I'm just biased cause he's my favorite character XD. Have Ashe master either Soldier or Fighter for Beginner Classes, which you get at level 5. At level 10, you unlock Intermediate Classes, have Ashe go through Archer and Brigand, Archer grants him good hit rates upon mastery while Brigand upon mastery grants Death Blow, you're friend already told you about it, but Brigand also grants Ashe a strength boost At level 20, you unlock Advanced Classes, have Ashe go through Wyvern Rider and Sniper, Wyvern Rider, much like Brigand, grants him better strength, plus he can move again, while Sniper keeps his speed and dexterity high. At level 30, you unlock Master Classes, go Bow Knight or Wyvern Lord, Bow Knight grants him long distance attacks and allows him to move again, Wyvern Lord is the stronger version of Wyvern Rider. As far as teaching, focus him on Lance, Axe, Bow, Authority, Riding and Flying, all of those are good skills for Ashe, especially earn a B in Flying, it grants an ability called Alert Stance, you don't have to be a flier to use it, just equip it into an ability slot, if you choose wait, it grants avoid to that character. Ashe has good speed, luck and dexterity, his best stats, going down those class lines takes full advantage of his good stats, he's not as speedy as Ingrid or Felix, but he keeps up well enough. Sorry for the paragraph, I just thought I could help you since ik at first Ashe is thought to be weak.
