Is the Dast Baz the same as Mayaneh? I was checking the Basic Strokes of Tombak (Zarb) by Matt Hannafin and from the description seems similar but I can't find any example on TH-cam. Mersi!
Dastbaz is for the top hand and meyaneh (middle stroke or tom meyaneh) is for the bottom hand.
@@pezhham but in the video you mention the dastbaz for bottom hand right? So that's the one we call meyaneh?
@@auresius88 I mentioned the top hand has an up-and-down motion and the bottom hand has turning motion. Dastbaz is always for the top hand. Check it again!
Meyaneh means middle so any stroke hitting the middle of the instrument could be meyaneh, but it is specifically for the bottom hand.

ای داد که هنر و هنرمند مهجور ماند و آن شعر که میگفت هنرمند هر جا رود قدر بیند و در صدر نشیند رنگ معنا بباخت. بسیار کیف کردم از دیدن این مستند و آشنایی با جناب اخواص. همچنان که در دل اندوهی برای غربت هنرمند در ایران زبانه میکشد آرزو میکنم این چنین نماند و آسمان عریان شده ی هنر مزین به ستارگانی چون ایشان گردد.
من تازگی با یک گروه حرفه ای آهنگ باد فروش هایده رو زدم خیلی دوست دارم دانش آموز و تازه وارد های تمبک رو تشویق کنم❤❤❤
Very nice introductive lesson, especially for the sense of dynamics. Only it seem that the rhythm written on the board (5/4) around minute 24.00 do not correspond to the one played on the daf (4/4). Anyway thanks a lot for sharing!
