First saw leroy and cordell on a channel 4 programme in the 80s called story of banjo, it seems so long ago its hard to believe, cordell has passed away and leroy is around 60 !!... my god....where did the yuuurs go !! 😂

😂 My dad was born in 1898 my mother was born in 1927 and lived in the Appalachian Mountains So I was 9 in 1968 and it seemed like we were living in the 1930s and 40s so yes I can relate to all of this. I am blessed to have lived in that special time✌

I swear this is my great granny. She made these pies every year during the holidays until she turned 96 years old. You just vant find this anymore 😢 I hope to be just like this when im an old woman.

Oh boy, I do love me a good ole fashioned practical joke! My dear old uncle and I used to play this game called find the jellybean, but I'd rather not talk about that period of my life. Let's just say, that your mid 40s are not all they are cracked up to be.

I come back to this video often. The house she was in reminds me of my grandparent's old house. I can remember how warm and cozy it was and I felt safe there, not a care in the world as a kid. During the holidays, all the food smells were there, cornbread dressing, dumplings, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, candied yams, ham, chicken. I miss it so very much and I'm glad this video exists.

My grandmother taught me how to cook and bake, and I passed my knowledge of cooking and baking to my children. I'm 51 now and I have grandchildren and I hope to get teach them

My grandma made us fried pies... I really do miss her.

Dave seemed like a lot nicer guy back then. He didn't spend any of this interview calling anyone stupid or a snowflake. It's hard to picture this Dave being the same one who would later pull out a gun in a staff meeting and tell employees not to "let the door hit you in the a**." I think in the years following this interview, all his success went to his head and Dave Ramsey the arrogant celebrity was born. That said, you have to admit that his advice now is consistent with what he was saying back then and it's good advice.

My grandmother, Nanny, made fried pies when I was a kid. Usually used home made apple butter for the filling.

I've learnt so much from Dave Ramsey , he changed my whole mindset.

This was my grandfather in 1984. He passed in 1991 at the age of 78. My grandmother just recently passed away in 2021 one month shy of 104. They were both wonderful Christian people...
