    I was looking for some videos on how (as a passenger) - I might deal with a diruptive fellow airline passenger, and I discovered these RTAP videos. Before I viewed them I reviewed FAA advisories to flight crews - and the ovewhelming advice the FAA gives flight crews is to de-escalate and refocus (distract the anger) the individual. These RTAP training videos are well done - and use a scenario approach that demostrates how to implement the de-ecalation techniques (yet stay in affirmative control.) Most of the amateur TH-cam videos on dealing with difficult people are confrontational and exactly the opposite (then again, they are for entertainment value.) Being an instructor in many topics, I found that these RTAP videos present a better technique, which can be ramped up if necessay - but will in most cases allow the difficult person an exit path from their behavior.

      Once you have copied (Control+C) the shape line using the "globe" from Google Earth, go to ImportExport file and the shapes tab. Scroll down or go to the first blank row and then column A. Double click the A cell (blank) and the pop-up will display, type in "7", name or re-name (replace) the shape_id - and this data will fill in.

      Thank you for your kind words Simon, and we are glad our video and resources are helpful to you. If you are looking for a Canadian agency to provide technical assistance for rural transit, the Government of Canada provides a Rural Transit Solutions Fund to target the development of transit solutions in rural and remote communities. www.infrastructure.gc.ca/rural-trans-rural/index-eng.html. If you are looking for GTFS tools, the Government also provides timetables and real-time bus positioning (GTFS-RealTime) open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/1bcf0d8e-d67b-4291-8393-70621b0f5400. There are additional Canadian GTFS products - please send an email to info@nationalrtap.org if you would like a list sent to you.

      Bus stops are occasionally shown on Google Maps in the middle of the road. Our GTFS Builder instructions include reminders that a bus stop needs to be located in a safe location and the bus stop coordinates need to be precise.

    I've seeing like 12 people just get on the bus without paying and the bus driver tells them to pay their fair but they just go to the back and hide behind the other passengers and laugh at the bus driver and go sit down and sometimes the passengers that paid just laugh at the bus driver too

    • @NationalRTAP
      @NationalRTAP 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The issue you bring up is really about lack of respect for the bus driver and the transit system. The driver needs support from the transit agency in this situation. Drivers who experience lack of respect should report back to their supervisor to work on an effective and enforceable policy and procedure. The goal is to change the culture of disrespect to a culture of respect. We welcome additional comments from transit agencies who have successfully dealt with this issue.
