I used walk past this Brunswick St building after school in my teens and it always had a woody, musty smell. I can't believe that nothing has been done with it. Thanks for sharing. This brings back fond memories of the good old simpler days in the 1980's Brisbane.

It was built as a skating rink and the Pool was outside where the car park is closest to the main road out the back. The gym was on the back half of the building the family used to live upstairs at one stage then it got converted into a restaurant when the daughter of the original owner took it back over and the skating rink wasn’t making any money, they converted it into an indoor playground which was meant to be the biggest in Queensland at the time until It went bust then someone finally bought it turn it into a pool hall, but after that I don’t know what happened. I only know this information as I work there in the skating rink before it got closed and turned into a playground where I worked till they went bust

How sad! My hubby and I had lunch here on our honeymoon many years ago. We stayed at the place across the road. I can't believe how it looks now 😩 Is there a video from your first explore of this place?

I remember there was a open Chinese takeaway store, I remember sitting in a chair waiting for my dad to pick up the food in 2015 and coming across a Garfield comic in a stack of newspaper next to me. The only thing I liked from there was the shrimp chips, that’s it.

I was in Brisbane last night. I was taken aback on how many ancient buildings we have. Convicts didn't build them. I've still got the dust smell on me from exploring some of these buildings. Roma St Station is older than they say.

Aww my parents took me here when I was so young. So weird seeing it this way, knowing it’s gone. Same with Nostalgia Town in Pacific Paradise, knocked down to make way for housing.

I spent a lot of time at this house growing up. It’s heart breaking to see it a shadow of its former self… It was sold to developers back in 2011. It was then rented and is destined to be bulldozed. In it’s hay day, it used to sit on around 8 acres, approx 1400m2 under roof and took a very long time to build. It’s all double brick construction (my uncle did the bricklaying). It was (kinda still is) an unbelievable house in the early 90’s. I still remember welcoming the year 2000 there, a party that continued well into the morning. Cool video, I’m glad somebody has a footage of its incredible footprint, one that the average person could never replicate today.
