When using healing magic on living people, recovery pain occurs, but when reviving a dead person, no pain occurs.This is because resurrection magic first revives the body, then returns the soul to the body. When Namari was resurrected, she didn't feel any pain.

This is the start of the "real" Dungeon Meshi. While the lighthearted side never fully goes away, the story kicks off now where the comedy is intersperced with real stakes and mature (not bloody, just adult) themes. I'm glad you managed to make it to this point! To explain resurection magic as the explanation Namari gave got cut from the manga. You need to have, I think 12/13ths of your body accounted for for it to work. So the group really is in deep shit here. As for why Marcille is so worried about Falin. Falin isn't her friend. She's her *first and only* friend. Marcille has a very hard time connecting with people because of her backstory and that will be explained later, and Falin's the only one who she let herself be connected to so far. Part of her arc in this series is to let other people in. You could definately read it as romantic, but in a recent interview the author confirmed it was not intended to be seen that way but the audience is free to interpert her work in any way they want. Edit: Oh, side note, something easy to miss is that the reason Senshi and Chil didn't die is because they had barrier magic applied to them by Marcille. If you pause the frames where Chil is hit by the rock you see that it doesn't really *hit* him, he just gets hit with the rebound.

The full story of Dungeon Meshi has finally begun. The story so far has been a prologue explaining the characters and the world. Personally, I found the second half of the story much deeper and more serious than the first half, and much more interesting. In the second half, Laios is portrayed as even more of an eccentric person, and Marsil grows into a much stronger character.

The frog suit was the scene that made me laugh the most in this story. Up until this point, the story presented the worldview of this dungeon, the personalities of the characters, and foreshadowing while eating monsters. I think the real beginning of Dungeon Meshi is from episode 11 onwards. It seems to change from a bright and fun atmosphere to a dark comedy for adults. Be careful not to get a heart attack while watching.

Namari was uncertain about how to estimate Falin's age due to dwarves living longer. Kinda funny I think.

The frog suit was fun. From episode 11 onwards, the story moves to fighting the Red Dragon and rescuing Farin. Up until episode 10, it was a bright and fun comedy anime about adventures while cooking and eating monsters. However, the main story is about to begin. The story will be more extreme, violent and dark than before, and you may be a little surprised by the change in atmosphere, but the gags and comedy will continue as usual. And you will feel that Laios is more eccentric than ever before.

2:11 "Kaka" and "Kiki" are pretty typical gnomish names, apparently 😅 As a native Spanish speaker, when they were introduced I was like: "OK. Wow" too.

Thank you all for educating me and giving me a little more context on grandpa-pa 🙏🏻 I don’t really hate him; I just most likely misunderstood him and his intentions through a quick first impression. While I was editing, I could see that he wasn’t very mean or cruel towards the twins or his wife (obviously) but I don’t quite like how he treated Namari. Looking back, it does seem like strictly business between those two so that might be why the relationship was like that on-screen. I still think it wouldn’t hurt for him to care a lil’ more than that (mostly because I quickly became a huge fan of Namari in this episode and wanted her to be treated well). Also, the way he kept talking about elves seemed like he was sort of looking down upon them, but I’m sure there’s a reason for that which I’ll find out the more I watch. Just a heads up: I record these reactions in advance so my feelings are definitely subject to change during all these uploads. I appreciate all the comments and information through this series!

YEAAH Tansu is a bit too callous and pragmatic when it comes to just letting Namari get killed. But when his Kiki is in danger he freaks out! Theres a side comic that shows Kaka and Kiki being adopted by the Tansu's when they were little kids. Anyway, Namari is the one who keeps emphasizing this is just a job for her, Tansu is sort of matching her energy. Sitting down and having a meal together gives Namari the opportunity to tell Mr Tansu that she wants to be a permanent part of their group. I wonder what makes her want to stay so badly? The good pay? The attractive twins? The group stability?

I'm surprised at the hate Tansu got here. He's absolutely someone with a tough personality but he didn't really do anything wrong? Like, he's the healer, unless Mrs Tansu is too, if he dies, his entire party is probably going to die. It's over. Namari's job is literally to tank the hits for him. He can bring her back. She cannot. People killing themselves to keep the healer alive in the dungeon is completely normal and not something our party would not resort to. And he didn't take advantage of Namari. He needed a bodyguard, Namari needed a job since Laios could not pay her, he paid her for her services. That was all that there was to it. He's an old grandpa that's not good at being nice, but hardly a bad person really (outside of one notable exception, DM doesn't really have inherently bad people).

Yes, Namari is a dwarf. Interestingly, her name means "lead" as in the metal in Japanese. The dwarf in Kabru's party is named Daya, which means Diamond. You can kinda see the connection between minerals and metals and Dwarves, as they are often associated with mining. Namari's issues are not simply financial, you'll see later on- it sort of impacts dwarves in general.

I don't think it's ever said, but Kabru's party probably got down faster bc they didn't stop to rest and cook as much (they probably passed them by while Laios was paint-surfing, lol)

Unplayable state? In case you didnt know, valve's been banning bots and hackers left and right, and the report system finally works! Bots still exist but only few that will eventually get reported and removed. Casual has returned and the summer update is safe!

I won't come out and say how old Marcille is since I believe she'll outright say it in season 2, but she's a LOT older than Falin. I was shocked at what she was even doing at the school at the time!

Ooo see I was excited for you to watch this. This is where Kui makes us think about the characters relationships on a much deeper level.

Fun fact- the reason the kraken tastes bad is because giant squids have high levels of a certain chemical in their body that makes the meat from them taste bitter! Kui loves pulling stuff like that from biology and chemical sciences to inform her world.

Travis put a lot of work and care in this project. Glad the fantasy indie animation scene is growing.

Fun fact from the official Delicious in Dungeon: Adventurer's Bible- those two crooked corpse retrievers that revived Kabru and his party were mixed-race- the leader is a half-dwarf and the blonde one is a half-gnome. These sort of hybrids exist in this world.

yea Dwarves and elves can live for hundreds of years so to them Chilchuk would be really young but to other half-foots Chilchuk would be like middle-aged.

sorry long infodump incoming! hehe Chilchuk is a half-foot (aka Not a human) and they live shorter lives than humans (average lifespan is about 50 years and age of maturity is 14) if comparing him to modern day humans he'd be equivalent of someone in their late 40s (and thats why laios wanted to call him "mister chilchuk" despite laios being only 3 years younger) Marcille is an elf which live up to 500 years and mature at 80 and senshi is a dwarf which live for round 240 years and mature at 40 So in their perspective both chilchuk and laios are little babies (long lived races sometimes have a hard time realising that humans and half foots grow up and mature really fast and just think that they are children in their heart for most of their lives)

He is like a hobbit, that is why he looks like a kid ahaha such a fun episode Also is really fun to try to put together the story of the castle and the dungeon

2:10 Marcille’s full name is Marcille Donato, and her home town seems to be vaguely based on the italian countryside. So, Marcille was probably also raised in a culture with a special love for food, too.

This story has just begun.And even important information to the story only appears in fragments. The orc chief asks Laios, "If you defeat the mad magician who created this labyrinth, you will have the entire labyrinth, but what do you intend to do?" Laios replies, "From now on, I will explore with the aim of taking possession of this labyrinth." This conversation will be an important theme in the story.And Senshi was listening to this conversation next to him. It's good to remember this.
