Sir, as I am running psexec with switches -u -p , my local computer is saying access is denied. But when I run psexec without those switches , it is running successfully from my local computer to remote computer where same user is logged on. What may be reason behind this scenario

Great tutorial, but if you can do PowerShell remotely, why not just use it to execute winget? Does this not work? After all, winget can install software, including from private repositories. I'm mostly a Linux guy, and am curious about some of these things on Windows systems. Worst case scenario, once WIndows finally gets sudo in 24H2, I would setup OpenSSH Server on the Windows host and remotely execute winget that way.

Thank you this worked 100% for me, If your struggling with this you might have some other network issue. In my case I had to adjust the default gateway in my IPv4 settings to be on the same subnet as my ip config.

for those who ask about different windows server related apps, please understand this this tutorial is better suited for apps outside of Windows Server apps and modules. you get access denied because the user you run this application is just a local admin user on a domain computer. the GPM module or ADUC are windows server components that check against your provided credentials with the Domain Controller to see if you really have access to the console( and since you launched it with a local account and not a domain administrator it won't let you make changes). hope this helps. thank you @ZineTek. i will try this to see if it works.

This works however I was able to create a shortcut to cmd and apply the runas.exe syntax beforehand. Which allowed me to call on the saved admin credentials to open a System32 Command Prompt. From there I can open Services, registry as admin... is there a way to prevent this?

Great video ZineTek. It clearly explains the process. I have a custom application that I provide as an MSI to clients. I wanted to know if updates to this app on user machines with limited privilege need admin intervention? Is it possible for the user to update the app without the intervention?

When I cannot run cmd as admin, psexec does not work either. if you are not admin on the computer, you can't go to that step. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent way to install the apps on remote system.

If you want to get rid of the Blank CMD window, add "start" to the command that is run in cmd like this: runas.exe /user:<ADMIN USERNAME> /savecred "cmd /C start \"\" \"<PATH TO PROGRAM>\"" The window will still appear, but then disappear after the user clicks "YES" on the UAC Prompt
