After realizing there is more to life than just settling with what you’ve got and what is expected of you, I’m determined to help others in their 20s realize their own true potential and live a more passion-fuelled life by taking back control.
I’m going, to be honest with you I’m 27 years old, and achievement wise I don’t really have anything to show for myself, I entered the real world after college with no skills and no idea. I quickly discovered after bouncing from 1 minimum wage job to another that something is wrong.
Is this really what my life is going to be like?
But after seeing my wife quit Uni to pursue TH-cam and start her own business, I saw that life wasn’t just about settling with what you’ve got but it's actually possible to create your own path.
After seeing what is possible of someone close to me, I’m determined to experience, learn and share to help others in their 20s realize their own true potential, take control and live a life to be proud of.

It is not the smartphone that is the problem but what apps you install on it. I remember the days when we only had landlines or GSM's for calling and texting. In general I was better off: but an app for parking, the banking app, etcetera. Sometimes I need to install something on my phone to connect to the broker's website where I buy and sell shares and options. I hate my phone spying on me.

Some people only have a phone for everything, no PC. But sure, if you have a computer at home for the heavy lifting, what you carry with you doesn’t need to be that full-featured at all. Most stuff can wait until you get back. It’s just a pity that some services force you to use QR etc so you get stuck.

Great that you found what we have known as our lives. I am 62 years of age and grew up without computers, without portable telephones. I have known black-and-white television, yeah, TV was around. Radio was mid-wavelength and USW. We had musicassettes and 8-mm. film wind-up movie cameras. When I jobbed for some money as a cashier at a little supermarket I had every price in my head. I knew the phone numbers of dozens of people by heart. To call someone I dropped coins into a booth phone where there were also printed directories. My first cellphone I bought in 2008, a Nokia 1208. I should love to still be able to use it but as much as I know these models can’t be upgraded to 4G or 5G. I’m a mechanic and repair mechanical things. That’s satisfying. I pity the fools who fear that the end is nigh should their smartphone quit functioning. What a poor world is this? I find it wonderful that you got to this point.

Actually, the so-called "dumb phone" is becoming the new smart phone. Smart, right? What's dumb is being controlled by a device in your pocket. And we don't need a parking app, just use your recorder app to say where you parked.

I have an iPhone 5 which today is almost a dumb phone since it can't run the latest apps. It can still do iMessage and take pictures, oh an music. Many people have tablets now. Do I really need a tablet AND an iPhone? A tablet is just going to sit there until you log into a wi-fi hotspot so I can catch up on spam when I'm at a hotel or metro station. If manufacturers start making feature phones that look modern, stylish and with a modest set of tools like a camera and maybe a basic browser for QR code scanning, I think people would buy it. Smartphone users would buy it for a backup or for their kids first phone.

I'm in college and it's pretty frustrating to be part of a class where that one person is, just like you mentioned that person is not bad just not a good influence in my life. Hello, I have a smartphone and I also have a phone, what you call Dumbphone. I always use the Dumbphone on the street. I don't like using phones. At home I use a desktop computer and it is for work. And I've always done it. I grew up in the era when there were no telephones. For me, on the other hand, it is difficult for me to use smartphones, because they absorb your time and damage your eyesight considerably. For all those things I don't like them. It's so nice to go outside and just look at the dumbphone to see the time or use it to listen to music. When I have to wait for someone, I bring a music player and I start listening to music. And my player is very small, it uses a mini memory card. I'm glad that you no longer use your smartphone because you will get more out of your life in real time and outside.

I have never owned any cell phones. I am either at home or at work where I have a land line. If I am anywhere else, I do not want to be disturbed by people. All it takes is a little bit of pre-planning to determine how to get to a location or.... heaven forbid, reading a map. I still tell people, meet me at address x\y @ a specific time if I must connect with a person. One day I may own a regular mobile phone for emergency situations, but so far, I've gotten this far in my life (60 yrs old) without a cell phone, why change it.
