Nice one pal and some superb photography and drone work. Slightly more scenic than Paddy's pole. Well done fella
Cheers buddy, yeah it is a little more impressive but still love that Fair Snape 🤣
Spectacular one of your best .well done
Cheers mate 👌 thanks for watching
Nice mate, great hike that! Smashed that bud. Well done.
Aye it was up there with the greats, thanks for watching 👌
Hi Leo, epic mate, absolutely epic mate, what a day you had. Cadair Idris is a great mountain. We holiday every year in a cottage just near Tal-y-Llyn so I go up it every year. Your Grandad tells me you and your daughter have not been so well lately. Hope you are both on the mend. All the best mte Dave
Yeah it’s an epic mountain, yeah we’ve recovered now but we were battered by it, thanks for watching! 👍
"Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go." - 🏔🎒
Really enjoyed this mate! Some strong wind there but you still smashed it. Thankfully we've been lucky with the weather compared to this haha. New sub from us.
Yeah the fell didn’t want us there but thankfully that wind disappeared 🤣 thanks for watching and thanks for the sub 👌
Nice drone shots .i hope you didn't ddck a sheep lol
🤣 fortunately for the sheep I’m not Welsh, so there was no mutton shaking
Elow Leo… I know its a late one .. just wanted to know if you have ever done a Rivington Pike walk from Smithills Road/Smithills Farm Bolton? Am doing a charity hike soon am organising it. i have time to explore routes. But have you covered the Smithills route ???
@@missyb5195 no I can’t say I have covered that route, I would imagine the terrain wouldn’t be easy if there isn’t any clear paths, but I’d be purely speculating having not done it
No worries cheers. People who know that route have been using it for years, but I guess i’l have to challenge myself solo and see how it goes :)
@ I’m sure you’ll be fine, enjoy! And good luck on the charity hike 👌
Brilliant walk fantastic views 😊
It was indeed! Thanks for watching 👌
whats the on its arse trig called fella ?? cheers
Hawethornthwaite fell top, it was an absolute trek to get to from chipping but there are far better ways up, enjoy it if you do it and be careful of the bogs 🤣
@LeoManAndMountain it's not on the Lancashire trig list
Is it in Lancashire do you know I'm hoping it's not cos it looks an arse to get too lol 😆
@@trigmonkey_Lancashire yes it is in Lancashire it’s part of the Lancaster district area
@LeoManAndMountain it seams before 1974 it was in Yorkshire so the 101 trig point book may have been written before this If it's not in the book I ain't going lol Sounds like an absolute bog fest 😂😂😂
How is it for condensation mate?
I’ve got to be honest, not good, so far with the use it has definitely got a condensation problem, but on the other hand I haven’t opened the vents yet. Thanks for watching 👌
For in-tent no 1s get yourself a cheap wide-mouth Nalgene style bottle.
🤣😂🤣 it’s just something I’m not willing to do, it seems like I will have to keep enduring the elements 😅 thanks for watching
"I tawt I taw a puddy tat" 🐈
Fortunately we didn’t get mauled by any white cats of the Pennines 🤣
Shame about the rain. Tent did well
Aye was a bit and the tent performed decently which was good, thanks for watching 👌
you pronounce it wrong hahaha
Yeah, I got told off by Alan the Metal man, I now know it’s pronounced Chee-viot 🤣
@@LeoManAndMountain ahahaha , be happy
Hi Leo, how wide is the NeoAir Xtherm XL? I have an Exped Dura that's 65cm.
It’s 64cm wide, and 196cm long which I’ve found to be pretty excessive for myself length wise but the width is great if you turn in your sleep like I tend to do, you can get the regular wide which is the same width but is 183cm so unless your a professional basketball player is what I would recommend also it would fit in tents a lot easier. Thanks for watching 👌
@@LeoManAndMountain Aye, the Exped is long, but the width is needed, I have a Helm 2 as well so it just squeezes in there... Have you ever tried the preppers MRE £3? Great vid by the way.
Would be interested to see about the condensation they talk about in the new tent
I’ve done the review but it won’t be out for a few weeks, but yeah, condensation is a issue
New tent looks a bit flappy
Aye just a bit but 30-40mph winds are pretty unforgiving 🤣
Hey up mate how far is the trig from tarnbrook looks like you used the shooting track any info greatfully received Just seen 10 miles lol
@@trigmonkey_Lancashire probably just over a mile from Tarnbrook you follow the track then take a right along the fence line
I grew up in chipping. It was a right of passage to walk to parlick climb it and walk home. My dad mentioned it. Think i did it when i was eight or nine with a pal. Returned a few times with a sandwich and always put a stone on the pile at the top. Always took it full on. Tough climb! Its easier taking the path the the west. Follow the fence
Yeah it’s a great little fell and the views aren’t bad either, thanks for watching 👌
well done 👏 awesome achievement
Cheers mate, yeah it was and I’m now planning the next challenge 😅
Well done! Is Richie still making his way to the viaduct? 😝
He made it to the viaduct but couldn’t go any further, to be fair it is a slog to the viaduct 🤣
Great vid pal and good look next weekend with the 3 peak challenge. I would of done it if i had more notice. 😂. Take care Leo.
🤣 tune in next week for the result
@LeoManAndMountain I reckon you should be doing it carrying 5 litres of water and the helm 2 with winter bags just to challenge yourselves. 😂. You got this fella. Enjoy
Wow great chat .i am 100% with you on how this country is going. Nice camp as well
Yeah bit of madness isn’t it, but at least we can still get out camping. For now……
Great looking camp that pal and enjoyed the rambling & ranting . still loving the look of that helm 2 but it stinks from 5 weeks ago. Lol. I am still considering between 1 or 2 but smaller footprint can squeeze into so places.. hmmm. Take care Leo .
I can’t speak for the helm 1 but I wouldn’t want to go smaller just for the sake of keeping my pack inside, I wouldn’t normally add all the talking and stuff but I thought I’d record this time but it’s definitely not all the conversations that would be hours and hours of video 🤣 thanks for watching!
"Forget the five-star hotel, I'll take a five-million-star sky any day." Thanks for sharing the beautiful Yorkshire countryside with us.
I love it up there mate, went up couple of weeks ago in the dark and i know what path you are talking about but its atill bloody steep to get up there if hugging the fence. Every credit pal for getting up there and rewarded with a great sunrise coming ng uo from another one aof my faves and i get what you are talking about hotpot. ATB
yes it was my first tent got it from go outdoors £25 but there waterproof because i have tested it in a 3 day 3 night camp in january new years eve and it rained for two of them so brilliant first tent i have five tents now and still got tamar 2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5 star oh and the poles are fiberglass but there thick ones
It’s a cracking tent for the money, unfortunately when it rained for me it came in sideways and got under the hood and dripped in on me 🤣 but apart from that I can’t fault it! Thanks for watching 👌
Late to the wild country helm party. Looks like a great camp on one of my favourite wild camp locations and fairly local to me. As a bobcat user looking at the helm 1 or 2 to give me more room. How is it holding out in the time you have had it. Cheers fella
Well it’s been my go to tent for a couple of years now (but I have recently bought a new go to tent that is a little more expensive) but I wouldn’t hesitate in buying a helm and I would go for the 2 if you want the room and also I would buy the foot print, hope you enjoy it if you get one! Thanks for watching 👌
@@LeoManAndMountain cheers for your swift reply fella and valuable advise & great tip on footprint giving usable dry portch. So not a issue carrying up a slightly heavier backpacking tent up to PP as the start of that walk is a steep one straight in after car is parked. Lol. Blow out my arse. glad I am not up there tonight as it's lashing it down here in Vegas of the north. Cheers again pal. If you are wanting to sell the helm, give me a shout.
now im here i may as well subscribe
Thanks buddy 👌
leff is a good beer try that out if you havent already and i will look at more of your reviews as i want a low cost 2 person tent that will pack neatly on a small motorcycle. all the best mate
Yeah it’s a decent beer, I would recommend you look at the forclaz tent review not as cheap but brilliant quality for the price! If you’re ever on the continent like Belgium or Holland I recommend a beer called Cornet now that’s delicious
You can only do what your body / mind tells you is okay to do mate!
That is indeed true, but you can train your body and mind to do more and after this hike that’s exactly what I did and feeling miles better for it! Thanks for watching 👌
Great video mate, just subscribed, nearly at 1k subscribers mate. From a fellow TH-camr 😉👍
Yeah it’s taken a while 🤣 thanks for watching and subscribing 👌
Not the only one with the fitness, after pneumonia and Covid back to back this year I have been really struggling with my fitness. I did the same three Fells you said you were going to do about 6 weeks ago in glorious warm sunny weather. I did it from the Wrynose Pass, a route I really enjoyed but a road I hated driving on and I was in two minds on doing Crinkle Crags or not after Cold Pike, especially after drinking 4 litres of fluid (its was a hot day) but so pleased I did, it was a cracking days hiking, despite having a fall, cheers Alan
For me it’s been tough getting out there since Pavey was born but I’m getting back into it again thankfully and feeling much better for it! Thanks for watching Alan 👌
Just dropped you a sub pal. I camped in pretty much the same spot a week or either side of you being up there. Shropshire Hills are local to me, so always love to see a camping video in the area. Great video pal. All the best, Mike.
Aye it’s a lovely place and I need to get back out there at some point. Thanks for the sub and thanks for watching appreciate it 👌
Your right this year had been a washout. I can't remember one as bad as this
There’s been good days but few and far between, thanks for watching 👍
I have this tent, I am a beginner, and I have used 7 or 8 times now wild camping, I have replaced the pegs, which was the biggest downside to this tent, I have got used to erecting it easily, I tend to camp in drier conditions and is fine for that, you can sit up in, it only cost £35 Which I cannot moan about
Apart from your rucsac being too small not a bad review. Value wise the best tent on the market
Considering it’s a 65litre I’d feel a bit silly taking something bigger 🤣 but bang for buck it is a great tent
Great video. I'm climbing Ingleborough tomorrow, with a friend. I managed 2/3 earlier in the year, but just could not do the last one.
I did them all last week, it is a great challenge it makes me want to take on more challenges 🤣 Thanks for watching!
No need to pull the poles out, they both push out fine after you drop the tent flat.
To be honest when it’s flat I’ve never had a problem pulling them out, I’ve found them very easy sleeves to work with
I knew it looked familar, great video and I may take some direct inspiration aI s could hike or cycle here easily
Yeah nice little spot and very accessible, have a good one!
Well next week the weather is looking fantastic with warm dry sunny days with probably the most consistent week of good stuff all year , definitely back into summer so it’s a great time to do a wild camp ⛺️ or walks to summits or anything outdoors so I’m sure you’ll get out and enjoy 😎
Yeah it’s looking pretty good and I’ve got a challenge ahead of me next Saturday! 😅
@@LeoManAndMountain ahh yes three peaks good timing sir ⛰️ good luck
Glad your back out .nice flag
Simple and great 👍
Hi Leo, great to see you back out in the tent. Looked a decent spot to pitch. All the best mate.
Yeah was a nice spot and not a challenge to walk either 😅
I paid £60 for mine and I have no complaint's. It's a good piece of kit for the money and for someone just getting into camping.
I agree it’s a great starter tent for wild camping and finding your feet with
great review thanks for putting this up cheers m8 classssssssssssss
Get urselves to the isle of Arran out of season if u ain’t been. We did a week in March using Chris Sloan’s book and absolutely loved it.
It’s definitely on my list that place looks stunning
We did the week off grid and off sites. Really campervan friendly.
I have one except pegs good tent.
Great video. Admire you coming down that steep incline off Great Howe.Did this last Friday and the climb up was awfully slippy through the ferns. The bogs were not as horrendous as those that protect Hen Comb or the flat section between Hardknott Forest and Green Crag.
It’s a good time of year to do it right now, when it gets to the wetter seasons I’m sure it would be pretty horrendous 🤣 thanks for watching
Why do we spend money to live like a homeless person. Why do we watch said person also. We are a funny breed
🤣 we certainly are
